We will probably have a top 5 pick anyway. Bridgewater, Manziel, Clowney or Sammy Watkins would be nice

We should tank 2-3 years in a row. Then we'll really have a team!

Problem is we won't know for sure that he'd for-go his senior year as he's only a sophmore

Manning all over again

Tank the season? Are you for real? Are you aware that many mens careers are at stake? Why in the world would a team tank an entire season? I am truly glad many of you have NO say so in what this team does.

No, I wasn't for real. Glad you have a working sarcasm meter.

I was going along with the OP and having a little fun.

BTW there are some people here that I would more confidence in team if they were running things.

Clowney=once in a decade+ talent
Bridgewater=once every couple years talent

If we are tanking for anyone, it's Clowney.

Any Journeyman QB will be better head and shoulders better than Sanchez and the defense is likely only to get better with Wilk and Coples getting more experience and having Revis back.

What big contracts are going to be cut that actually helped this team?

No way this team is top 5 pick range, let alone the worst team in the league.

I would say this is a solid plan except stuff like this doesn't work for certain teams while other teams step in **** repeatedly. Unfortunately, we are in the basket of teams that would some how **** it up. Just like the Dolphins did last year when they were trying to suck for Luck. They magically got their act together and wound up with the 8th pick and got a somewhat talented QB who was still probably a reach. The Colts, OTOH, were able to have their GOAT QB have a random neck injury putting them out of their otherwise perennial playoff spot in the exact season the best prospect since Elway is coming out of college.

The Jets are with the Fins, sadly. We had our chance at Manning but he goes back in the draft. The Colts come along, swoop him up and they are set at QB for 13 years. Next year, we'll probably have Jason Campbell as our starter, but somehow a guy like Antonio Allen is going to step up, make a great play in week 17 and screw our chances at getting our Franchise QB.

Thats just the way things go unfortunately.

At least we are not Cleveland

BTW, the intent of this thread was not suggesting we lose on purpose, just pointing out that Bridgewater would be the kind of prospect you need to get "Lucky" in order to get. Sucks to be the Chiefs or Jaguars this year. Sometimes you just need to time your bad years.

Or Jax....they try to get their Franchise QB and get stuck with Gabbert. Get a top two pick again and they're stuck with **** (relatively speaking). They'll probably do just enough to miss out on Bridgewater next year too. And rather than move them to LA, the league will simply relegate them to the CFL. Perhaps trading them with the Argonauts.

This. I would not rule out taking Bridgewater with the first pick because a stud QB>>>>>>all time great defensive player. But if i had to pick now, i am taking Clowney over Bridgewater.

As premature as it sounds, Bridewater just became the favorite as the # 1 overall pick in 2014. He is already much better than Geno Smith, Barkley, or any of the prospects this year. He may not have Lucks' size and strength or RG 3's speed, but he can sure throw that ball in tight spiral with pinpoint accuracy, and great pocket awareness to evade the rush, adn good footwork. Love this kid.

On the other hand, Driskell reminds me a lot of Sanchez. Moves toward the rush and throws terrible interceptions and careless with the ball, and consistenly off target.
