That's a good point....he will be. He's still a FA that we are losing. The fact that we can't franchise him has no bearing on whether we will be compensated.

Depending on the deal he gets, we very easily could get a 4th rounder. I doubt the Jets sign someone of relatively equal stature that would cancel him out.

But the Jets won't get it until 2014, and he has to stay healthy. Plus, if the Jets get a 4th, that would probably mean he went to another pro-bowl, which means we have to listen to fans whining about not resigning him, frankly that's almost as bad as losing him w/o compensation.

I wouldn't mind if that number became 4 and Strong ended up with the Jets.

He can bring his QB with him.

Cleveland: Known for power football and defense.

This should be interesting.

So he's treating it like he is down two scores with two minutes to go.

Everything coming from Manish Mehta is questionable at the very least.

Either way, they better stay the **** away from him if they know what's good for them.

They've got a cute little football team there. It'd be a shame if someone were to.........buy it and relocate.

@AlbertBreer: John Dorsey is the clear-cut favorite to become KC's GM. Heckert's second on the list.

Doesn't matter. The Browns are doing the same thing we are. They hired Chip Kelly before the GM.

Chip Kelly is a hot commodity. Several teams were interested.

I think having him is an incentive for a potential GM.

Not for a guy who wants a DL coach to be his head coach when he goes to a team

It would appear that the Browns disagree.

+1

The Niners are an organization that puts about as much emphasis on defense as we do.

Rex is a defensive oriented coach who at least has back to back AFCCG appearances on his resume.

Chip Kelly is all about offense (a gimmicky one at that) and has virtually no NFL experience whatsoever.

Not to mention that Rex and Gamble have supposedly had a good relationship dating back to Buddy Ryan's days with the Eagles.

I still say we're the favorites to land Gamble's services. Woody is close with Polian and judging by the reports, Polian has been selling Woody on Gamble for weeks now.

Come'on man. I let everyone slide when they go on and on about GMs not wanting to come to a team having a coach forced upon them, but now having a spread option coach forced on you is a plus? Rex is one of the best defensive coaches in the game, who has won a lot more games than the talent should have allowed, is a detriment, but a coach that doesn't even run a pro offense is really going to excite prospective GMs. I get that GMs probably want full control, but you can't have it both ways. If Chip is a plus than Rex should be too. I hope they give our GM unconditional authority over Rex. Rex is an inmate, and shouldn't be running the asylum, but He's a good NFL coach. He just needs structure, and discipline.
