New York Giants Leaving U-Albany After 17 Years Of Training Camp!

The New York Football Giants won TWO Super Bowls since they've had their training camp up here.

Time for the NEW YORK JETS to seriously consider moving here from SUNY-Cortland so the JETS can win a Vince Lobmardi trophy of their own.

ALBANY - The New York Giants won't train at the University at Albany this summer.

The team says they informed UAlbany and Mayor Jerry Jennings this week that they will hold their 2013 training camp at the Timex Performance Center, their year-round headquarters in New Jersey.

It had been anticipated that the Giants would eventually end camps in Albany in favor of training at the facility the team built next to MetLife Stadium.

The team had trained in Albany for 16 of the previous 17 summers.

"The University at Albany and the Capital Region have been great hosts for us during our training camps"the Giants said in a statement released Friday afternoon.

Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings: "This is Giants country, and we wish them nothing but the best."

Lord knows Cortland has done us wonders. Good thing we went back this year so we could make the AFCCG. Staying home in 2011 was such a disaster.

The mayor is just a Giants homer. When the JETS came up to scrimmage the G-Men a few years ago the local JETS fans came out in a HUGE force.

I also think that Cortland, NY is more Buffalo Bills country anyhow.

Giants won TWO (2) Super Bowls while training in Albany so having an NFL training camp at U-Albany is a proven success!

So which team gets to actually practice in Metlife Dump? It would only make sense to me that a team practice in their own stadium so they can learn all the ins & outs of it. Metlife was a dumbarse idea.

Cortdland reminds me of a small town in Ireland; It is easier for players to bond there. Albany has a different big city feel. Both are good but I prefer Cortdland.

Nonstopping waves of welfare-criminal riff-raff moving north to Albany from New York City turning this place into a s**t hole/dump is not the issue for the NEW YORK JETS.

I have personally laid my eyes on TWO Vince Lombardi trophies that the Super Bowl winning NY Giants brought to Albany for their training camp.

U-Albany training camp is a proven Super Bowl WINNER...TWICE!!

You can't say the same about SUNY-Cortland and you never will. Besides, they're mostly Buffalo Bills fans in central New York State.

Cortland is about three hours from Buffalo. There are just as many Jet and Giant fans there as there are Bills.
