Gamble turns down 2nd interview with Jags to focus on Jets

No link but shifty Schefter just said on sportscenter that Gamble turned down a 2nd interview with the Jags so "he can concentrate on landing the Jets job".

Tom Gamble turned down second interview with Jags to focus on #Jets GM job, per @AdamSchefter. Jax leaning toward Dave Caldwell.

I guess having a HC in place isn't scaring the top choices afterall!

I don't like to take anything for granted, but right now it's looking like he'll be the guy. Good choice. Can't wait to see him start getting things back on track.

Gamble is the best option for the Jets landing Alex Smith. If he could somehow trade Sanchez it would be a godsend.

But the Jets can't land a top candidate

Rex would scare them off

The cap would scare them off

Woody would scare them off

Manish would scare them off

They are the Jets

So in the past 24 years, Gamble has:

- Coached in the NFL
- Been a head of college scouting
- Been a head of pro scouting
- Has experience with contract negotiations
- Currently resides on a legit SB contender with tons of homegrown talent

How could you not want this guy?

Thumbs up Would Andy Reid want Mark Sanchez....?

=Alex Smith wants a lot of $$$$. But if we get some interest in Sanchez, it could get done..... Andy Reid needs a QB in KC. I like Sanchez.... but he needs a change of scenery. Bad coaching by Rex, Sparano, Cavanaugh, ruined the kid.

-If Gamble hires the right people..... Jets could have hope once more. Stay tuned.

I didn't know that Gamble has coaching experience. An added bonus. It will be nice to have someone at the helm who really knows the game.

Rich Cimini ‏@RichCimini In order for Gamble to sign with the Jets Rex Ryan must be dismissed by Tuesday per SF sources (that's a joke, wishful thinking).

Woody still may scare him off, I really believe the only concern he will have in taking this job is Woody's reputation on meddling in personnel matters.

Rex would scare them off- He can can his ass next year and bring in his own guy

The cap would scare them off- sucks this year but the light is on next year

Woody would scare them off- see above.

Manish would scare them off- GMs talk to the media once or twice a year.

They are the Jets- This is a great situation to step into. Nobody but a few delusional fans think the team can be any good. It is all up from here, Bad record next year, hey the owner wanted me to keep him around. But tanny and him really messed this up.
