![]() When Rex inked himself and forever linked himself with Sanchez. If I can go way back I like what someone said about when Favre got hurt...that 2008 team would've been dangerous with a healthy Favre, and who knows if he comes back in '09 (turned out to be one of his best years) |

The 2011 Jets were 8-5 when the wheels came off on Dec 18.
The ghetto inside Santonio Holmes took over as Sanchez slipped into a funk of mental laziness and never returned. The big game clutch playmaker that was Mark Sanchez in '09-'10 is lost forever. |

Holmes isn't ghetto and doesn't have it in him. He was as mad at Mark Sanchez as we are now. He just saw a QB that was getting him killed and couldn't throw an accurate pass if he had Montana's arm sewed on.

His poisonous attitude was back before the regular season started. He's a walking cloud of nerve gas that'll cripple our chances again in '13. Thanks for trying though. I knew some vermin with a few hundred posts would crawl out from under the floorboards with some idiotic rebuttal.

Rex thinking ( or saying) that the personal on this team was good. He thought ( or said) 90% of them were the best in the league, and they started believing it.

Single move?
When Santonio Holmes disgraced himself and his team in Miami with so much at stake and he received no discipline except from Wayne Hunter on the field. The circus was in full swing from then on.......... |

Since that game, the New York Jets are 9-15 with a 1-11 record against teams that end the year with a winning record. You need to look at the importance of that game and the head coach whose bluster didn't work that night. It's the turning point. Our team flipped from elite to scrub by getting blasted by the Patriots, have never recovered. SAR I |

A couple of people have said this and it's true: the Jets handled the lockout off season worse than any other team in the league. We can cry that it's bad luck, like the torrential rainstorm before the '83 AFC championship, but if those Jets were truly SB material, they find a way to win that game. The lockout timing sucked but other teams handled it well, we should have too. Not re-signing Braylon, letting go of Cotchery, bringing in Mason. Holmes was over paid but the Jets were looking to keep a legit WR for their QB. Then you add the 2012 off season moves which were even worse. Two straight years of very bad moves, and I think what really galls us fans is it should have been obvious to Tanny like it was to us that those moves didn't look good at the time, and we were right. TO THIS DAY, we STILL don't know why Braylon was never re-signed. We never got an answer to that.
The god news is some good moves this off season can put the Jets back into playoff contention. |

There was veteran FA talent we were ultimately going to lose -- it wasn't possible to keep the talent level where it was. Outside of the QB position we had one of the most talented rosters in the league in 09-10. The reality is that in year three, when Sanchez was asked to do more, he fell flat on his face and sucked. Drafting Sanchez was the biggest single mistake of the Rex/Tanny era. There were many smaller mistakes in player acquisition and roster movement, but if you had to say "what was the biggest single error you'd love to change" it's Sanchez. Put a veteran QB on the Jets in 09 and we win the Super Bowl. Last edited by Austin; 01-06-2013 at 10:45 AM. |

Two things. Alan Faneca and Damien Woody. After losing these two pieces, the Oline has never been the same. Then Sanchez ran into the Ravens early last season and they took his heart. He has been a shell of himself ever since.

The Jets are the Joke they are because the 2 men who showed the greatest leadership on the team skills have been villified by the Fans and subsequently fired by the owner. |

The Jets are an awful team, with many solid football players that should be used to fill out the roster. Begin here and go from there with the young DLmen and Nick Mangold. Everyone else is available in trade for the right price. |
