Jets to Cut Scott,Pace, Eric Smith and Jason Smith

The Jets are expected to release OLB Calvin Pace, ILB Bart Scott, OT Jason Smith, and S Eric Smith as soon as the waiver period opens in February.
Pace has been one of the least productive pass rushers in the league over the past three seasons. The moves will save $8.56 million on Pace, $7.15 million on Scott, $12 million on Jason Smith, and $3 million on Eric Smith while accounting for just $4.5 million in dead money. The Jets will have still little cap space with just 10 starters under contract.

Per Rotoworld
Also please trade David Harris $12 million, I like him but severely overpaid at that price.

I'd like to try and get a pick back for tebow but I think the jets really don't have any leverage with this. if I was jax I'd just wait for the jets to cut him

Lots more junk than that to clear out of the garage. Said on game today that Colts have 35 new guys on roster this year.

Anyone with half a brain makes those cuts with their production/cap savings.

yeah it's a big hit next year but his cap value decreases to $7M in 2014 which will be his age 30 season and can be cut for $5M or extended on a team friendly deal if the jets wish

Exactly. Take the hit on him next year when we're not going anywhere then have a good solid veteran player on d (but not the all pro everyone expected) at a decent price.

Eric Smith shouldn't have been on the team this year.

If Tanny didn't restructure Scott's deal he would have been gone by now.

Its a good start.

Please add Mark Sanchez.

And then I would add this name as well; Santonio Holmes. I can't wait for that selfish punk to get off the team. If we are going to bite the bullet next season we might as well swallow it all.

Wow I didn't hear that. Luck and Reggie wayne is the Offense and mostly everybody else is new and cheap.

I think he'd be cool with reworking his deal. He;s definitely going to be asked to

By that measure, we might as well lock this thread, and most threads that are started relating to free agency, cuts, trades etc etc.
