They wouldn't interview...

Just like Gamble chose not to interview with the Jags and just like Heckert chose not to interview with the Jets.

The Chargers expect to name their new GM tomorrow, with their longtime exec Jimmy Raye and Tom Telesco (IND) in the mix

Maybe Gamble is coming here, I don't know.

Well, maybe Gamble is still a possibility.

This was Woody's plan all along. Getting Cohen in here allow him to maintain status quo.

Even the most optimistic clown on this site has to admit that Rex has not been perfect yet Woody rewards him with Carte Blanche.

What has transpired the last two seasons is deplorable, what has happened in the month makes the last two years feel like a Super Bowl. No wonder we are the butt of jokes. Woody deserves everything that is being printed or said about this circus.

Right. Now we are painting a scenario where Tannenbaum was some rogue GM puppet master responsible for all this mess. It's not Rex's fault. He stays. It's not Cohen's fault. He stays. It's just Tannenbaum. And the OC. And the QB coach.

But I'm making foolish assumptions. Laughable.

He either a) agreed with the decisions or b) was not able to persuade Tannenbaum not to pursue those decisions.

Either way he's complicit in what happened, get him off the team, don't promote him

Plus Dorsey is probably going to the Chiefs.

I dont think Gamble has any other interviews set up, so he is still an option.

But why would he go to the trouble of HIRING AN OUTSIDE FIRM. Even if he wanted to make it seem like he was looking for candidate, he still didn't have to HIRE A FIRM. He cou;d have just brought in random candidates to interview them.

It was reported the interview didn't go well.

Whats laughable is that the guy who had the most control and responsibly is the only one left standing, and seems to have even more authority than ever. You cant make this stuff up.

I wonder if the posters at Chargers Insider are losing their minds over an internal candidate as well.

I just said this on another post but I'll repeat it.

I think the Jets need a strong GM and not someone new to the job. The GM has to be able to tell Rex "no" when Rex needs to be told "no". If the guy is going to cave due to inexperience, it's going to be more of the same.

I simply do not understand the thought process.

There I go again. I'm making a foolish assumption that Woody has a thought process.

I was really liking Caldwell more and more. I can't take this anymore. If we don't get Gamble and at if don't even get Ross after that, and then are stuck with Cohen, I will go insane.

He's a living human being. He has to have a thought process.

Everyone just needs to calm down. This is actually how things work. Can you imagine your team without a coach at the moment?

Yeah, I mean that seems to be the only way to interpret "interview did not go well" at this point. The Rex sticking point. Guy clearly has the credentials unless he's just a bad interview in general
