I'm starting to think he's a bad interviewee because the Chargers passed over him too.

I do not think that the issue was with Rex because the news was already out that Rex was staying all that week prior to the interview. So he knew that he was going to have to keep Rex at least for a year.

Jimmy Raye was with us during the Herm Edwards days I believe as a coach. I wasnt impressed with him especially at a gm level.

Not unlike us.

We ask Bill Polian who the best candidate is. He says Gamble. We interview Gamble then say no thanks. Jets football.

You'd think teams wouldn't give a **** about his interviewing skills, considering his background and expertise.

Daddy Raye was with the Jets before 02-03 and 06-08.. First as a Senior offensive assistant and then as RB coach.

Even so, still a better candidate than Cohen.

Yes that was Jimmy Raye II. This is Jimmy Raye III. But still there is a connection there.

And how can you say that without knowing what kind of candidate Cohen is?

Didn't Jax want to bring him back for a 3rd interview?

IDK. This whole thing is craziness multiplied by 10.

I'm curious about that as well. He was easily the prime candidate last week. Considering his background and credentials, you'd think he'd be forgiven for an interview in which he was perhaps a little off his game. Maybe he was just flat-out bad?

Who knows. Maybe he said no and it's just being reported differently. Or maybe he did bomb or wasn't a fit. Who knows what the criteria is on both sides of the interview.

And the intrigue continues...

Albert Breer ‏@AlbertBreer
Jets have asked for and received permission to interview Dolphins assistant GM Brian Gaine for their GM spot. Interview expected this week.

Perhaps he was giving off the vibe that he wanted to stay in SF much like Chip Kelly did the same re Oregon?
