Who in the hell besides a few Jets fans are still bragging about back-to-back AFCCG LOSSES? Wow, Rex's teams failed to get the job done TWICE in a row, and then went 8-8 and 6-10 the next following seasons.

WHOA, BETTER SIGN THAT COACH TO AN EXTENSION! GOTTA PREPARE HIS BUST FOR CANTON!

I try to convince myself he is a good Head Coach..

I hate starting over so in that respect I am glad he is staying although he stated himself he was starting over..

I will look at the bright side and just come to the conclusion that it was just a bad year with too many injuries and horrible QB play..

We do lack talent and need to get staff that can find that talent..

I think Rex can talk up his team...

Herm Edwards was able to talk up the team also..

You need a little bit more than that as both of these guys have now proven..

So I am all for keeping him... But not sure if we are 4-12 that I want to..

I like Rex because we have a guaranteed top 10 defense as long as he's here, and usually top 5. He clearly motivates the guys to play on all sides of the ball and we just need a QB.

What is delusional, is anyone that would have confidense that the owner even cares about winning when observing everything over the past 2 seasons.

1) I would like to know who has quit on Rex.

2) Holmes being captain means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. (and that was 2 years ago, that shiit changes every year).

3) Rex had nothing to do with Tebow trade

4) why he kept Sanchez was explained- HE WAS FORCED TO... and from a financial standpoint you can't bench someone who you'd want to trade.

Joe Namath is a laughing stock and the fact that you are bought into media hype proves you don't know what's really important.

Stop concerning yourself with who the captain is.

Those who say the team quit on Rex are wrong. The defense gave up less than 300 yards in 5 of the final 6 games. Doesn't matter who they are playing, that doesn't happen very often in the NFL, especially in today's game. Teams that do that don't appear to be in quit mode.

The offense, well, they were done in by zero creativity and mistake-prone QB -- a recipe for disaster.

Don't confuse a losing record with quitting.

How so? This is the same owner who gave Sanchez a cap crushing bashmillion dollar contract extension because he didn't want to hurt his feelings in the Tebow trade.

Herm Edwards only had down years when he was HC because Chad kept getting hurt. Yes Herm talked his team up but he was a realist as well. He was willing to make the tough decsion and in fact the UNPOPULAR decision to sit Vinnie down and insert Chad for example.

Herm was also was all about challenging the players. Rememeber when Herm told Chad that he would be good but never great if he didn't stop being so hesitent with the ball....People out criticised Herm to no end out here but he was right.

Rex said "we have three quailty starters at the QB position that most teams would love to have"!!! Was that true?

Herm said Brooks Bollinger "we will do the best we can" and he was killed by one Jet reporter in particular and tons of posters out here. Indeed people said such things that if herm knew what he was doing Bollinger would be a top QB in the NFL.

Rex on the other hand gets a top prospect in Sanchez and after his and the teams "coaching", Sanchez's confidence is shot and he looks worse than many college QBs IMO!!!

At the end of the day Herm was a poor game manager no question, but ask yourself this is Rex somehow head and shoulders above Herm as a game manager? I don't think so.....

So while I want to give Rex more time as HC I am under no illusions as to his so called mastery as a HC as some are out here

WHO DOESN'T??? I think he's a f*cking weirdo, but HOW may I ask does that apply to him being able to coach the NYJ?

The guy is so weird he makes me laugh. He doesn't live his life the way other (what I would consider NORMAL people) people do. He takes loving his wife to something that I dare to say most of us would never attempt.

He loves feet and uploads foot PORN onto the internet. And that is just scratching the surface I would think. I figure he's probably fit for a straight jacket he's so f*cking nuts.

IS ANY OF THAT AGAINST THE LAW? DOES ANY OF THAT AFFECT HIS ABILITY TO COACH THE NYJ?

The answer to those questions is a resounding NO.

Therefore, I don't give a sh*t about his personal life. It's not anything that would get any employee of any company fired. Not in private business, not in a governement job, not anywhere.

IT'S HIS BUSINESS WHAT HE DOES IN HIS PERSONAL LIFE.

I laugh out loud when I hear people say Players quit on Rex.. I ask when? when Jets were 3-6 and everyone in the world thought they were finished? wrong.. I was even ready to say season was over, but rex got this team to fight their way back in it till the 2nd to last game of the season.. They could have easily quit, not on Rex but the worst qb in the league.. Why bust your butt when you know #6 will find a way to lose the game? But they did.. Its not like Rex had other options.. You heard what the players thought of tebow, and we saw the arm of Mcelroy..Sure they did as well in practice..

I guess the cowboys players quit EVERY year at the end of the season.. How about the giants? yep they quit.. Eagles, Chiefs,Miami,ect.. I can name virtually every team that missed the playoffs.. FIRE them all!

Give Rex a remotely decent QB and put an established mind in place on offense (Norv Turner/Hue Jackson/Mike Mularkey) and see how this thing shakes out this year.

I like Rex the HC. I think he can do well. But there needs to be checks and balances in this org. If what Tony Pauline on the draft board is saying is true, and Woody is looking for a GM that doesn't have a "strong personality", I can't get behind that. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The GM needs to have the cajones to tell Rex who his players will be, etc.

Joe is a member of the media now, his job is to promote Joe and stay controversial enough so that he gets radio share. In that aspect he's no different than Kurt Warner, Phil Simms or any other talking head employed by a network.

Those who want to hang on every word of this former Jet , need to realize this. Sure he may still be a Jet fan at heart but he knows where his bread is buttered. If he comes on and sounded like Greg Buttle who make the Jets sound like like perennial SB champs, everyone would turn him off.

And now he's getting a pass after failing for 4 years? WHAT!?

OMG, where do I even begin with this nonsense post...

So Woody doesn't know football so how can he possibly know if Rex is the guy?

AND YOU DO KNOW IF REX IS THE GUY?! The only thing you have to go on is what Woody and all the rest of us see with our own two eyes. Two consecutive AFC Championship appearances and two bad years in his FIRST stint as a HC.

Bill Bellichick SUCKED as a HC his first time. Rex is a million times better than BB ever was in their first HCing stints.

The proof is in the RESULTS.

You also mention he promised things for 4 years? That's your fault if you actually believe COACH SPEAK. In fact, I can't but think it is DUMB. I'm not trying to insult you here, really I'm not. But you really need to learn to form your own opinion about the team and not hang on a coaches words.

Unfortunately, when you look at Sanchez, McElroy and Tebow, what Rex said was the truth.

Sanchez gave us the best chance to win. What he didn't say was that the chance was about 31%.
