Haven't seen this movie in ages - might have to DVR this tonight.

I love when the Simpsons pay homage to movies like this...

Except their palm tree was in the shape of the letter "T" lol

Jim Backus as the drunk pilot was hilarious.

And a few cameos (Jack Benny, Jerry Lewis, The 3 Stooges).

Holy crap, I didn't even realize the end of the cat burglar episode was a take-off of this movie. I've never seen it. It's awesome that the W palm tree from the movie is in the lower left corner behind the T.

The only sad part was how ancient the 3 stooges looked in their cameo as firefighters. Moe, Larry and some other vaguely familiar guy.

They will probably butcher it with commercials. I really should get the DVD for this classic.

I've never seen the movie, but definately will DVR it now.

And I'm pretty sure TCM doesn't do commercials.

Man, replace those cans (the ones on the floor) with books, and that photo is scene one in "TEh SUrprised Librarian" starring 32Green.

There's no commercials on TCM. As a matter of fact, they letterbox the screen so the left and right margins aren't cut off.

I loved Phil Silvers in this movie but my favorite scene is where Jim Backus gives control of the airplane to Buddy Hackett so he can go and make an Old Fashioned cocktail drink. Hackett says "what if something happens (to the airplane)?" Backus replies "What can happen to to an Old Fashioned?"

1:15 mark below.
