My best spin for the Cohen leaks: Woody's people are trying to raise his stock in the eyes of the NFL for his future job prospects because he's well thought of in the org., but have no intention of giving him the job.

Stop over-thinking this.
Scott Cohen will be our GM. Rex is backing him. That is why we keep hearing his name pop up. |

He didn't make good picks but it could have just as easily went the other way had he selected 3 starters or probowlers - and I think people actually forget, Rex Grossman did take the Bears to a superbowl as their starting QB.

The Thomas Jones was a FAIR trade. Jerry Angelo and Mike Tannenbaum believed and followed the value chart for draft picks. Many GM's have followed that chart since its creation.
To the casual observer it would appear the Jets got worked over. But if you are knowledgeable enough you'd figure out that is how teams work trades involving draft picks. |

Why does this organization continue to make ass backwards decisions? Why do they continue to be attracted to failure? I know its just tweet news and nothing concrete but you can't feel good with direction and focus this team is heading and it starts with the idiot owner at top.

NOOOOOO!
Angelo is garbage. He busts out in the first round every time. I live in the Chicago area and can't stress enough how bad this guy is. Not to insult anyone who's for the hire, but it's a clear case of "out-of-town stupid" He was able to keep the Bears competitive even though his drafts were garbage by signing free agents. |

This is worst case scenario in my opinion.
The Bears made a superbowl under Jerry Angelo, let's get that out of the way right away. That will be everyone's arguing point to back him. Under his watch(10 years) they made the playoffs 3 other times. 4 playoff appearances in 10 years, and he is the guy we are looking to lead our franchise? I can't phathom this decision making process. Angelo hasn't had a solid draft since about 2004 and has had some terrible, terrible drafts in the past 5 years. I can't and will not get on board with this one. I have never, ever been the type of fan to not give someone a shot if they are hired or drafted by my team, Angelo will be the first. |

As info....Perhaps the Bears scouts sucked, which of course was still Angelo's responsibility to evaluate and make changes, if necessary Phil Emery revamps Bears' scouting department http://www.chicagonow.com/chicago-be...ng-department/ |

DRAFT well, develop players, solid QB play and now, more recently.... Balanced offense, ground and pound is DEAD. Teams will regularly score 21 points or more no matter what REX does. we need offense too.

I don't remember all the names, but he drafted an injured player in round one like 3-4 years in a row.
Half the time that guy didn't even play his first year and was bad after that. |
