Rex said that himself, so this report matches that.

I found this very interesting:

I remember hearing nothing but great things about Gamble before he interviewed with the Jets. He was near the top of every list. Then it was reported he had an awful interview. I wonder if Glat had anything to do with it. I think a lot of people are in Woody's ear. I know Woody cares about business and he must value Glatt's opinion.

Aside from that, I try to entertain every theory. Positive or negative. Just so happens the negative ones are making more sense to me. Not saying I think all of them of true.

What exactly are esoteric football questions?

Oops, it looks like I quoted the wrong post. Either way the question is still valid.

I have no idea.

But if he is essentially Woody's business manager, why is he interviewing football people?

FLORHAM PARK, N.Y. (AP) The New York Jets have hired longtime NFL official Neil Glat to be their new president.

Glat worked in the league office the past 15 years, most recently as a senior vice president of corporate development.

With the Jets, his responsibilities will include strategic initiatives, league and club business development and stadium development.

The announcement was made Wednesday by Jets owners Woody Johnson. Glat starts his new job next month.

7 is actually a very popular number in the Bible, it seems.

It looks like Florio got a tiny nug of information and is running with it at full speed.

Who gives a **** what questions anyone asks in an interview? Woody, Glat could bring in Shakin to run each guy through the ringer and I'd have no problem at all.

As long as they have a copy of their resume with them.

Manish Mehta ‏@MMehtaNYDN
Jets will have a new GM in place before hiring an offensive coordinator.... so no OC hire is imminent. #nyj

Brian Costello ‏@BrianCoz
I was told Jets hope to have GM hired by end of the week, but it could stretch on longer. #nyj

The New York Daily News reports the Jets have interest in former Browns coach Pat Shurmur for their offensive-coordinator vacancy.Shurmur joins Marty Mornhinweg, Hue Jackson and Cam Cameron as potential candidates to replace Tony Sparano. Although Shurmur would be an upgrade on Sparano — most anyone would — there's nothing in his track record to suggest he could "save" Mark Sanchez. However, he would at least bring coherence to coach Rex Ryan's preferred "ground and pound" attack.

I would rather have Jackon or Marty

Didn't you get the Memo? Rex retird his "ground and pound" mantra at his press conference. Now its unpredictable and attack. Whatever that means..

Me too. Or Pep Hamilton. I'd have Shurmur over Cam though. Just say no to a guy who got fired from his team during a playoff run.

I dont think Rex has ever looked more foolish than when he was trying to describe his offensive philosophy.

What he means is that, since the Defense is out there the entire game anyway, the Defense is now our Offense and Cro Show is our QB.
