Browns announced they hired Norv Turner to be new OC. As @UTKevinAcee said last month, Turner was never coming to the Jets. #nyj

If I am the Cowboys or Jets I'd be trying to land Whisenhunt as well, but recruiting top people into those situations will be tricky

@JasonLaCanfora: Ken Whisenhunt didn't end up in AFC West with DEN after talking about their OC job, but every reason to believe he lands there with SD...

@JasonLaCanfora: Chargers among the teams interested in Whisenhunt as a coordinator. Working with Rivers would seem to be a great option. Stay tuned

Gotta hand it to the Jets organization for keeping a lid on the GM decision. Sure points to Pettine or some other dismissed snitch being the source of the constant leaks.

Don't know of too many OC openings where there is a Brady or Manning caliber QB just sitting there. You work with what you've got or replace it.

I was talking oc not GM. If you are an oc about to hire on with a potential lame duck coach and have Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow and Greg Mcelroy staring you in the face would you be enthused? If you are a desireable candidate I would guess that just about any other job would be better than the Jets for an OC.

Ah the era of Cadigan and Haight. Awful, awful years and picks.

Google them, young Jets fans.

Whisenhunt was a finalist for some HC jobs, no? I imagine being hired by Jets would virtually guarantee no HC job next season either. I don't see how the Jets offense would be good next year, and a bad season means the entire staff gets replaced.

Cowboys could conceivably have a good offense and a bad season, so I could see him being a coach in waiting in Dallas.

He runs the semi-new draft board that Sooth partnered with... He's a frequent contributor over there.

I was in college and left my dorm in disgust while the Jets were getting hammered early, only to come back later that night and hear someone tell me that the Jets had won. Naturally I was convinced the guy was pulling my chain. So, my theory holds that Denver overpaid in the trade for Robinson based on that 1978 game. Same as Oakland was impressed with Lamont Jordan and had to have him after he torched the Raiders in a Jets win at the end of the '01 season.
Kind of sound familiar with Tebow and Rex.

I remember the year they drafted Cadigan the guy they apparently really wanted was T Paul Gruber who had a very steady career in Tampa.

I'm actually glad he's not.

I prefer my coaches with a nice facial complexion.

Haight was 1986 and Cadigan was 1988. In 1980, we Powell and Ward at tackle 1st rounders in 1977 and 1978.
