His body of work is the Eagles have been a laughingstock the last two years, he's been the Mike Pettine to Andy Reid's Rex Ryan in Philadelphia, and he was a disaster in Detroit when he ran the show.

He's a retread who drove everyone in Philly crazy. And was horrible last year.

They drove me nuts, but tickets were never thrown in the garbage and I always, always knew whichever team they played they could beat, and usually did. That was a helluva lot better then what was going on here the last decade.

And they were playing with a Oline about 10 times worse than ours if thats even fathomable.

-Experienced playcaller (thank god)
-Should be a nice change from ground and pound

and this stat is interesting:

‏@Ted_Sundquist
#MartyMornhinweg has overseen 10 Top 10 passing attacks, 9 total OFF, as an OC or QB coach. That includes 5 different QB's. #Jets

Let's give him some jewels on Offense to work with. For starters we need a QB that can execute and an OL that protects the QB.

Once you do the homework on Marty's resume as an OC. You find something different from the perception and negative stigma attached to him. Here are some snippets from his Eagles Bio in their 2012 Media Guide.

From 2008 to 2010. Mornhinweg's Eagles offense shattered the record for points scored. In 2010, The Eagles ranked 2nd in overall yards and became the first offense in league history to average over 4 yards an attempt in all 16 regular season games. Team averaged league best 5.4 yards a run.
For his efforts, Marty Mornhinweg earned NFL assistant coach of the year honors from Pro Football Weekly.

Since Marty Morhinweg took over the Eagles play calling in 2006, The Eagles lead the NFL in 25 plus yard pass plays(219) and yards per touch(8.1). The Eagles were 3rd in yards and 5th in scoring in the league over that span.

His offensive playcalling success extends back to his time in San Fran. in 1998, The 49ers became the first team since the 1941 Bears to lead the league in gross passing and rushing yards en route to a franchise best 6,800 yards.

Hopefully with the new GM we will soon beginto see how be wants to address the QB situation.

But morningwhig has proved, with talent, he can put together a quality offense. In today's league that's all you can ask.

Some guys can't succeed even with talent.
Again, who besides McGinley is saying that Suckchez will be our starting QB?

Five quarterbacks have earned Pro Bowl honors while working under Mornhinweg: Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, Brett Favre, Steve Young and Jeff Garcia.

He will certainly turn it around.

The only problem is that turning around an offense that is spinning out of control
merely trades clockwise for counter-clockwise...

Eagles 6th in scoring in the entire league from 06 to 2012. That must have been a lot of damn field goals. Also #1 in plays over 25 yards. Guess which team was 32nd in plays over 20 yards last season. Rhymes with Jets.

I am content with this hire. For the first time in almost a decade we have hired someone with proven success to build our offense. No complaints from me, now with that said a coordinator can only make so much of a difference... we still need players to perform.

Step 1. Get a QB
Step 2. Get our O-line back to being one of the top-10 in the NFL
Step 3. Profit, or however that goes...

Maybe you should look a little deeper and look at the circumstances.

This can't be for real, is it?

What kind of moron would complain about this hire? It's widely known around the league that MM is a good offensive mind. We're lucky MM has the balls to get involved with this train wreck of an offense. To have found a good OC under these circumstances is pretty damned remarkable.
