Once we clear out $36M in cap space this year we'll be able to make some moves and more next year as when we drop Sanchez, Holmes and others. |

It's about a little thing called "resources".
How the hell are we going to fix this sh*tastic offense if we have damn near a quarter of our cap tied into our starting CB's alone? Is Revis a great player? Sure But I don't really give a sh*t because to me, there's no way you can justify paying a CB Tom Brady/Peyton Manning money. That's just idiotic and I don't take Idzik for an idiot. Our pass defense was ranked 2nd in the league this year without Revis. So please tell me why we really need him? Fix the offense already F*ck |

No , my point is you cut Sanchez and the inherent 17M cap hit , you end up with bargin bin replacements everywhere else because you can't afford to pay them all.

I don't buy into this hold building around an individual player thing. Football is a team sport. I can see picking a system that favors your players, but building a team around a player, I don't even know what that means.
What are some examples of teams building a team around a player. Who did Indy bring in to build around Peyton? Who specifically did the Pats bring in to build around Brady? Their receivers and RBs are OK, but not superstars. Only guy who really panned out for them was Gronkowski and he was a 2nd round pick and arrived several years after Brady. There are some teams that are built around the running game and perhaps a great back, but not as common nowadays. |

A conditional 3rd? That would be the worst trade in the history of football. |

Trading Revis makes no sense. He is our best player that counts very little against the cap. Also with only one year left his contract, no team will give too much in compensation because he can be a free agent after the coming season.

Franchise QB's are worth multiple 1st round picks. Not CB's who, no matter how great they are, only take away one single player. We're talking about a guy who, let's face it, doesn't play a very important position, is coming off a season in which he shredded his knee, and wants to be the highest paid defensive player in the league. You're batsh*t crazy if you think anyone is giving up a 1st round pick, much less MULTIPLE 1st round picks, for that. |
