Sundquist on Tebow debacle: "They realized it was divisive...wanted an exit strategy"

Quote:
"They realized it was divisive and hard on the locker room, and they wanted an exit strategy," Sundquist told ESPNNewYork.com, sharing the vibe he received from Johnson and Glat. The Jets are expected to part ways with Tebow next month.

Another interesting note is that, according to Sundquist, the Tebow trade was actually forced upon Woody by Tanny.

According to Woody, you mean. Woody is an assclown. It was his move. What's he going to tell a prospective GM candidate, that he forced the move on his GM?

Woody has always been a whore for big name players/QBs. From Favre, to Sanchez, to Burress, to Tebow.

Actually we have 0 idea about who really forced the Tebow trade, Woody or Tanny. Just b/c Woody is a republican who likes big-name qb's does not guarantee he wanted the big-name republican hero qb Tim Tebow.

One thing we do know: Rex never supported the move.

Starting to make a lot of sense now, especially the way Tannenbaum left gracefully with nothing but thanks to Woody and the organization. Think about it, if Tebow was forced on Tanny and Tanny got fired for personnel reasons then he'd be a little pissed and say, "hey Woody, you wanted this guy and now you're firing me for the roster?"

I think we're finally getting the real story.

Tanny is a professional. No matter the circumstance he would leave the same way.

I largely agree but Tanny was gone quickly and GMs usually don't take a fall when injuries play a big role in a season's downfall (ex. Holmes, Revis, Keller, Hill, etc). The fact that Tanny was toasted so promptly tells me the decision to fire him was likely made pretty early, maybe before December, as the Tebow fiasco grew.

Two things i got from that:

-sundquist, if its true he told what the conversation consisted of, is acting extremely unprofessional here and hindering his prospects for future interviews (yeah i know, water finds its level given the situation). Dumb move.

-Belichek is better than Rex. Thanks, I had no idea.

Isnt that what was said from the beginning? Woody said he leaves personnel to his gm, said it from day 1. It's the media that plant conspiratorial seeds on a constant basis.

It's gotten to the point that assistant coaches and players are publicly complaining about Rex not giving Tebow his "fair shot." Really? Maybe Tebow just sucked and was worse than McElboobs.

That doesn't mean Rex didn't want him to begin with.

I have a hard time believing Tanny forced anything on Woody.

But if it is true it confirms my belief that Tanny didn't know his elbow from his a$$ when it came to personnel.

It had to be Woody- the publicity stunt, their political views, and the fact that Tanny's gone but Tebow is still here.
