Coffee overdose or not. I say that you were in the right on that fateful night.

That's such a historic and infamous night in football history. Most people could tell you exactly where they were when it happened. That particular thread was funny because Pats fans were elated and acting like they won the superbowl. Little did they know what greater wins their franchise was going to steal down the road. Jets fans were either angry or dismissive. In that thread, You see Jets fans trying to calm down other Jets fans by stating "don't worry, Pats will lose sunday to Steelers and it won't matter after all".

The thread itself is symbolic of Jets Insider. Because a lot of fans, I was around at the time had the same level of emotions that fans had in that thread. It's reflected in that thread.

You could see the level of joy Pats fans had after years of being the underdog and having their heart broken. They didn't even care if they won in a fraudulent way as long as they won.

I understand Sooth's point of the Hampur. But this site has never been the same. I read the Hampur, post every know and then and like all the posters who are Hampur regs. It's not about being lazy and going there, it's about what we had. We had legendary threads which we don't have in the hampur. And if a thread is started in the hampur you have the same 15-20 guys in it and responses aren't frequent. On the main page we had 200 guys in it and threads became legendary.
You are a wise man my friend.

I remember where I was -- sick in bed with the flu. I was a senior in high school and was assigned to read Vonnegut's The Sirens of Titan. Bleary-eyed, the book sat untouched whilst I watched the game from bed. During the tuck fumble and the ensuing ruling I thought I was hallucinating.

I think I stuck with JI because I saw/remembered that thread, but then could never find the site again...I must have bumped into the original board off the NYT site or something. When I found it again I never left. That diatribe was the greatest thing I had read about the Jets in 8 years of surfing.

To celebrate, lets ban TX.

Love how Angry Sooth had different names for the Pats fans back then:

Garbanza = Dorothy
Fred Garvin = Blo
