Love love love that tune, cant wait to hear more from them. Sounds like Band of Horses meets Arcade Fire. Im excited.

I know it came out like 6 months ago but "Bloom" by Beachhouse has got to be my favorite album of 2012. I have just been listening to it over and over and over again.

I think this came out in 2012... possibly. MY GF showed me this the other day. Countless viewings later, I'm hooked. Uber-cool, gimmicky video, but underneath it all is a pretty decent pop track.

New Music?

What I got,......is frustration.

Can't find anything new thats good of late. Already own all the albums by my few recent finds (i.e. Iron and Wine, Black Mountin/Pink Mountaintops, Airbag, Muse, Radiohead, etc). I also picked up alot of unknown bands to not much avail.

I really wish there were more Floyd-style Prog bands about, and damn few less Yes/Genesis style Prog-Pop or Dream Theatre-style Metal-Prog bands about. The entire Prog scene seems to be poppy Yes-clones with the worst vocals ever, or growly-vocaled Euro Metal-prog is that is mostly bad metal with bad singing.

Meh.

Have you checked out Bon Iver? Not really my favorite, but If you like Iron and Wine he may be someone you like.

I think you are a '70's Floyd' fan?....I'm a Syd Barrett era fan of the Floyd, and indeed psych rock in general, and I can't recommend enough Tame Impala, whose LP last year topped a lot of "best of year" polls.

I have his first disk, it's solid enough.

Aye, T.I. is definitely more "Early Beatles/Syd Barrett Pop" than 70's Floyd Epic Guitar/Bass/Farfisa 30 min Epic Multi-singer Epicness.

Yep, there are prog elements in TI, but they vary from track to track....Apocalypse Dreams from the last album and Runway, Houses, City Clouds from the first LP have those elements more than other TI, for example. But at the moment they are mining that 1966-68 vein, by and large.

While not new, these may be new to you.

Doves has a certain sweeping anthemic-ness to them. Here's one of their better songs with the London Bulgarian Choir:

Although a bit Genesis-y as of late (Peter Gabriel's influence) and not what you typically listen to, but I'd be surprised if you didn't enjoy Elbow. This is their album "The Seldom Seen Kid" performed with the BBC Concert Orchestra:
