Greedy bastard that learned everything from his greedy uncle. Don't let the door hit u in the Azz if we can get the right compensation for Mevis.
Because Revis wants to be with the Jets for his career and compensated as the best CB as he should be. We don't know what is going on behind close doors. People are assuming a lot of things.

If Revis goes you just replace him with another shut down corner you draft in round 1. Or, use the shutdown corner we already drafted in round 1 - Kyle ****ing Wilson. It's just that simple

I would certainly turn down more money to stay with a company I was happy working with, in a city I was happy living in, with co-workers I liked. Most certainly YES.

You cant say "would you turn down millions" because it's not relative to a average Joe who only makes $70k a year, but if I was happy at a job making, say $100k, I would definitely pass on a job making $105 if I was happy where I was at.... Especially if I already had enough money in the bank to live like a rock star for multiple lifetimes like Revis does! LOL

Players do it all the time, Revis cant comprehend it because he is a greedy jackazz.

we wouldnt draft a corner in round 1, we'd draft a passrusher. Our secondary was fine last year without Revis, add a 10-15 sack edge rusher with Coples and Mo and out D is better than it was with Revis.

You can think you can structure a trade that going to get the Jets fair value back in a trade. You can't as everyone GM knows the situation facing the Jets . No one giving you fair value and paying his ridiculous salary for a player who isn't a Qb.

Jets options are rather limited. sign him now for Qb money. Watch him leave and get a fourth rounder( late third rounder) back in compensation in 2015. Or trade him now and get what you can. Probably a second rounder.

That what the Jets are looking at and it sucks that Jets can't get true value back for a special player. Every general manager knows the situation the Jets are facing. The ball in the Jets front office hands what they will do with Revis.

Sounds nice. Could be true if one or two teams were interested. There will be bidding war if he is on the trading market. Im sure the Raiders would love him after the loss the fraud Nmadi

Many players do it.
Brady has taken less in fact I'm not sure makes as much as Sanchez.
The Pats for years had guys that stayed for a little less, the ones that wanted to break the bank were shipped out for draft picks, Seymour, Samuel ect.

All this with Revis coming off a torn ACL which absolutely has an impact on how any player would be able to make cuts as well as straight line speed. Keyshawn was not coming off an injury in 2000 - he had just had a great season for us and was 100% healthy.
KJ was threatening to hold out if you recall.. Hmmm who does that remind you of??

A 2nd round pick? Yea right! Vontae Davis went for a 2!
That would be the case if there wasn't 5-6 team interested in Revis.
He's an all time great with huge name recognition & he's still young.
Revis gets traded for a MINIMUM of a 1st, especially if its a late 1st rounder, that team would have to sweeten the pot with a conditional 2 nd in 2014.
A team like Atlanta that is a hair away from a Superbowl will be in he bidding if they can afford him.

Serious ly, lets make a smart move for once and realize he's and we r not going to be able to resign him, and just save the tabloids the trouble of a holdout and turn the page already

- Revis follows the dough (just as any of us would)
- This remains to be seen, he's coming off a bad injury. Before the injury, you were right. Now? Not sure.

Remember the defense did fine without him this year. I hate to say it, but before I throw bunches of money at Revis, I'd pay Landry. He did a good job for us at safety.

What ever the Jets do, is it too much to ask them to act in a professional manner and not leak out all of these stories.

I've been down this road many times. first with Charles Woodson and than N Asomugha . you always dream of scenario where there a bidding war and you get something decent for the player. ( fair value for a player that proven himself)

JMO and experience watching this unfold. NO team wants to trade for a top Cb ( pay the CB team price to acquire ). And still have to shell out Qb money to a player who isn't a QB.

It a different story if that player a FA and it just money it going to cost the team.

JMo with the Jets unable to put the franchise tag on Revis in 2014, that put them in a terrible position and probably going to cost them any chance at getting a number 1 from any team. ( Jets have no plans at signing Revis before training camp than they better get something for him. ( It's better to take the second round pick now than take the fourth in 2015 if he leaves in Fa.

even if Jets work out a trade, no team is making it unless they can sign a long term contract with Revis. If you're Revis why would you do that when there could be a real bidding war in 2014. ( Show me the money and back up the brinks truck). multiple teams competing for his services.

The jets were silly not to protect themselves there with the franchise tag.

"Fair" value is rarely ever achieved when trading a player of Revis' stature. First, he is not a QB or a dominant pass rusher thus his value is not as high as a player of those positions. Second, he has one year left on his deal. So he is either a one year rental for someone or the team has to sign him to the big money deal that Revis wants, that hurts his value because if a team HAS to pay him, they are going to be less willing to also give away a lot of draft picks.

Leaking this story was actually a smart move by the Jets. They get to gauge interest from other teams and see what value they can get and they send a message to Revis that his future with the Jets is not a given and are not going to be held hostage by him and give him a blank check.

Let's see what Jets get back for Revis.( accept it now you're not getting fair value back) Is Vontae Davis as good as D Revis. Not even close but does Vontae Davis want Qb money. The money it going to cost to sign him and that going to lessen what teams offer back.

another point. Revis is holding all the cards. Jet's can't franchise tag him in 2014( Tanny should have got fired just for that). Jets could get six first rounders for D Revis in a trade. You think d Revis is going to sign a contract extension with a team( he doesn't do that the trade is off). When he looking at unrestricted FA with so many teams bidding on his services.

Now if you were D Revis what would you do. Listen man I feel your pain ( went through this a lot). But you're getting screwed in any deal for Revis.

Here's the problem with that statement - Revis does not honor the term of the contract either. I have not problem with the man holding out to maximize what he's paid, but he cannot get pissed when the team doesn't want to do the dance anymore. Revis should be the top paid DB in the game. No doubt. But that price was inflated by an outrageous owner who overpaid Agshmua (sp?) and skewed the perceived market value. Now he has to face the market correction and it may take a trade exploration to help define that value.

The reality is there are only a handful of teams who have the cap space, disparately need help at DB and view themselves as only a few players away from the big game. Any trade would require the preliminary framework of a L/T deal before moving forward with the trade. This implicitly sets the table for internal negotiations. It’s really a smart move all around. Management has a basis for setting the MKT value and if Revis isn’t happy with the numbers, he can test the market himself.

-You are ASSUMING this is the same Revis as he was before the knee injury.
-With that in mind, who needs who more? Can Revis command big dough from another team? Do the Jets who seemed to do well enough without him in the lineup?

This is really the first time that the Jets have the upper hand with Revis. IMO the Jets should either trade him or sign him to new deal before this season. They can not allow him to go into this season on his current deal and risk losing him in free agency.

with modern medical technology, I tend to believe he going to be the same player. No team going to sign him without checking that leg.

It hard to justify to a team fan base why they let their best defensive player go for a late third rounder( which really a fourth rounder) which will happen if he get to training camp without a contract .( he's gone).

The Jet's don't even have the power of the franchise tag to play with. ( hold over his head) So if your D Revis and you get to training camp without a new contract than you cut off all talks with the Jets.

you prove to everyone you're 100% healthy in 2013. Than you watch how much money he gets as you have so many teams competing for his services on the open market in 2014.
That make D Revis one happy camper.
