Idzik calls Revis...

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ppreciates-it/

Revis was no longer speechless after Idzik explained the situation. Idzik said in an interview that will air during Friday’s Pro Football Talk (5:00 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network) that Revis appreciated the effort to clarify the situation.

sounds like a straight shooter to me. ill be tuned in at 5pm.

Going forward I would like the Jets to put Twitter clauses in player's contracts that they are not allowed to discuss or react to anything involving player personnel.

That and many other changes to their media policies.

I'd love it if we took the NE approach to just say nothing at all.

Our success (or failure) during the Mangini era had nothing to do with whether he spoke to the press. I suspect you know that though.

Yea, you're right. Let's just go around promising Superbowls and telling everyone we're gonna be a scary team that people won't want to play.

GENIUS!

When did I say that? Again, there needs to be a balance. And as you have noticed, Rex didn't really say anything this year. And before you use that quote, he said "MAY BE"

How is this worrying about media fires? Idzik is just treating Revis with respect and informing him of his process.

You can't start to make trades until March so you should at least inform Revis what your process is.

Is it just the coaches that aren't allowed to talk to the players yet?

1. Tactics. You bought it. Your fault and the fans fault.

2. MAY BE. the key word is "may". That means it is not a guarantee.

3. What else is he going to say? Teams are going to come in here and rip us apart?

Don't play word games with me.

lol @ xg1 drinking all that kool-aid.

The point is that he talks and talks and talks. He and everyone in the organization need to zip it. Go about it the NE way and give the media NOTHING.

There is no kool-aid to be drank. In fact, in the first statement, I rejected the kool-aid. This is about logic and analysis.

When someone makes guarantees and fails to deliver, recognizing that isn't being illogical. Rex and Co. need to shut up and just not say anything. Why you're even defending these yapping clowns is beyond me.

I think it's just "football stuff" and only if they are both in Florham Park.

I think calling and speaking over the phone is permitted. IIRC Sanchez met up with Sparano at Sparanos house last yr. I'm not 100% positive on that but thought I remember reading something to that affect.

What process.....the guy is under contract. Period.
Revis is not part of the process....he is a commodity that can kept/traded/discarded. He's a player that doesn't need to be in the room.
To think that the Jets GM has to react after every media conjecture is ludicrous. The Jets need to start acting like they are boss and the players are employees.
Simple rules to follow....you don't wax poetic about any player, because that will cost the team $$$$ down the road.......you don't publicly trash players either. Keep it neutral. It's not that difficult
