Revis was a great choice. As was Harris. Obvious choices too, but still.

Remind me tho, didn't he also draft Ghost, another BAP , inthe first? Seems like Mangini pretty mcuh went with consensus players in the first, and hit on many of them. But they were still consensus picks. Not exactly shocker picks who worked out.

So, outside obvious BAP #1 picks, how did Mangini "The Evaluator" do? Surelywe have a dozen+ starters from the rest of his drafts right? Kellen Clemens leading us to the Super Bowl in 2013, amirite?

Agree to disagree I guess.
My point was simply if you're going to criticize him for a 3rd round pick (Schlegel), at least give him credit for his good picks.

And it's easy to look back and say a guy was a "consensus pick." Hindsight is always 20/20. Those picks could have easily gone the other way too. Give credit where credit is due.

Come on you are better poster then this!!!

Herm Lost Chad and his back up within 40 seconds and had a third string QB out there, Bollinger. People on JI were upset with Herm that somehow Bollinger wasn't magically turned into Steve Young in that season!!!

The fact is this, Herm never missed the playoffs when he had his starting QB stay healthy!!! Never!!!

Indeed many can't forgive Herm because in Herm's last year the Jets were favored by many pundits as the SB favorite!!! And folks thought Herm should still have won with the 3rd string QB and the reamining players

I did not.

Think; people are willing to give Rex more time as the HC (which I am), when Rex has presided over a starting QB, in Sanchez, who is literally worse now then before Rex and his staff was coaching him!!!

Come on man lets be fair.....

How are you making rules for bonus points on draft picks ?

So they don't get bonus points for taking the BAP with Mangold and Brick but you want to slam him for Gholston?

Also, We traded up for Revis to make sure we had him. So he didn't just come to us, the staff realized he's a cant miss guy so they traded up.

Also FWIW, BAP depends on the teams draft board, not Mel Kiper or Todd McShay. Each team is different.

No the GM who actually makes the moves does. Unless Mangini wants credit for trading up for Kellen Clemens.

You agreed that Mangini was responsible for Schlegel but the GM gets credit for the good picks? Which one is it?

If Mangenius wants credit for trading up for Kelly Clarkson and taking a boar-hunter 7th rd pick in the 3rd round of maybe the most stacked draft in the past 20 years go ahead. Eric Smith has never met a Tight End who didn't love him.

Something about Eric Mangini's demeanor that Jets fans will never get over. Herm friggin Edwards had a more succesful track record as a Jets HC yet he doesn't get 1/29th the respect Mangini gets on this site. Mangini wishes he had half the playoff success Rex has had as a HC yet there's a whole movement of people acting like Mangini's drafting of boar hunters and calling for preven defense against Matt Cassell was brilliant.

That didn't really answer my question but whatever.

mangini also had that moron schitty as oc. the bottom line is mangini didn't have a decent qb for all of his coaching years and until a coach gets one he will be largely .500 at best. he has already done better than any other coaching marvel from the patsie staff and with less than what the bellichicken ever had. give him some credit. tannenbaum should have launched schitty.
