So Dan Marino had a kid with some chick who wasn't his wife.

I hope this doesn't affect his usual in-depth fascinating commentary at half time.

Dan Marino fathered a child with a CBS employee in 2005

Mike Foss, USA TODAY Sports9:47a.m. EST January 31, 2013

NFL Hall of Fame quarterback and current CBS analyst Dan Marino fathered a child out of wedlock with another CBS employee in 2005.

The New York Post reported that Marino had an affair with former CBS Sports production assistant Donna Savattere, and the two had a daughter, Chloe, in June 2005.

"This is a personal and private matter. I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then," Marino said in a statement. "We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved."

Marino has been married for 28 years to his wife, Claire, with whom he has four sons and two adopted daughters.

"My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together," Marino said. "And we continue to be a strong and loving family."

After the birth of Chloe, the Post reports Marino "agreed to pay millions" and Savattere moved from New York to Texas to keep their relationship and child a secret.

Marino has been a member of CBS' The NFL Today pregame show since 2003, and will be part of the CBS Super Bowl telecast Sunday, which starts at 2 p.m. ET ahead of the game's 6:30 p.m. kickoff.

If anything, Marino should have used Isotoner's patented gripping action as a makeshift prophylactic.

He should have actually spiked the ball before going in for the score.

Or just deftly shot threw an alternate gap.

Once grasping the nuances, Marino would have had it licked.

He's always been known to pepper defenses and flood zones.

Perhaps if he ran the back door play, this wouldn't be an issue.

Or pull out a variation on the play.

None. It was a naked bootleg.

Mom is a little gum-my. Not terrible but I think Dan could have pulled a better side piece.

BTW, I don't know why these guys try to hide these things. He paid her millions to keep quiet. What a waste of money. Eventually, someone always finds out.
