IMO the tapes were destroyed because Kraft is in tight with CBS guy moonves and also brokered a deal for reebok to supply unis before NIKE. The destruction of the tapes was a payback/thank you. Look at the facts...TV money, Uniform Money, lock out etc. The fix was in

Nice of you to ask. The entire point of seeking small edges by cheating is to tilt things in your favor. Close is the whole point.

Would Barry Bonds be a HOF player without steroids? My guess absolutely, would he be the all-time home run king-No shot.

Would Lance Armstrong be a top 10 cyclist in the world who never won a Tour without blood doping? My guess is yes.

Really good teams, Good teams and bad teams seek an edge. Does it make a difference? I'm betting it does, why else seek an edge?

I fully understand the Pats fans predicament and frankly enjoy it. They have a great team but until they actually win another SB in the post cheating era, we can all only speculate on if having an edge made a difference.

Hard to imagine that a coach who prepares for every possible contingency like BB wouldn't use that small edge to get over the hump. That small edge was outside the rules, aka cheating.

I'm happy to give the man his due, he has always fielded really good well prepared teams. What he hasn't done is win a SB with arguably the best teams in football since his edge was taken away from him.

Until he does BB is Marv Levy without the personal integrity.

I am not aware of anyone who is claiming that the Patriots fixed the outcome of the games. What they did was cheat to gain an edge. That is why Willie McGinest's latest pitiful excuse (if the patriots cheated they would have blown out the Rams ) is lame and embarrassing.

"Right now, the media are waiting for Goodell in the ballroom of a nearby hotel. The NFL, in full-disclosure mode, is showing the eight SpyGate tapes that Walsh submitted to the league.

We’ve been watching the tapes for more than 30 minutes, and the biggest buzz in the room came when the camera was focused on the tush of a Chargers cheerleader. The shot lasted more than a minute, prompting lots of laughs in the room."

Agree....but any sain JETS fan must admit that the PATS, top to bottom, are better run, better coached.

They are better than maybe every team save 2 or 3 over the last 10 years.

You could make the same argument for the US Postal cycle team.

JETS fans jealousy is not very ...becoming.

WE need to be better and stop worrying about the PATS and GIANTS and many othernteamsmwho have lapped us over and over again.

Multiple SB wins is no mistake or luck.

lack of SB wins or appearances is also not bad luck.

management.

That will never change.

Jets fans are so envious and jealous of the Pats success it's not even funny.

Very interesting (not the part of the filming of the cheerleader's ass) but that this is part of the story that I have never heard and is certainly never spoken of here. We only hear about how Goodell destroyed the evidence to protect the public form the blatant cheating by the Pats. We NEVER hear that on the second round of tapes, the press was invited to watch them all. Maybe he realized that his first action was too impetuous and rethought the strategy of a new commissioner just getting his feet wet and showing his authority? Funny, I think we would have heard if the tapes showed anything other than what we know to be on them.

These Patsie fans especially TX live on our boards, the least we can do is give them shlt for spygate and for not winning that TX' guaranteed Super Bowl again...
Every year he gets cocky saying no one can beat them and then eventually he has to eat it...He and the rest of them have got it coming after an epic 2nd half choke job against the Ravens...
Its got nothing to do with jealousy

The fact that the Jets have been mediocre as a franchise does not excuse the Patriots for cheating. The Lions have been run poorly for most of the last two decades. Does that mean that they should not have complained about the Patriots cheating?

The shame for the Patriots organization and their fans, is that they did not have to cheat to be a successful franchise. But they did and it will hang over their organization (as it should) and all its accomplishments.

Just curious: If it was recently reported that Jamal Anderson or Dorsey Levens still felt cheated by their team's SB losses to the Broncos (because of Denver's salary cap violations that enabled them to keep both Elway and TD, the team's two best players by far), would you have posted it here as "breaking" news?

In all honesty, probably not.

But how does it change what happened?
