DEN & SF Should Be ...
Two teams that go hard after Revis after their playoff failures this year. Both
of them went home because of poor secondary play and in the NFL your window closes very quickly. Because of each team's desperation to take the next step we may be able to get the picks we want in this draft. If any of them offers me their #1, #2 and #3, where do I sign |

There's NO reason to delay the process. Start Geno
Smith.

And if you think we're getting a 1, 2 and 3 for Revis, keep dreaming.
Yes, he's the best Cornerback in football, but Cornerback is about the fourth or fifth most important position on a team and he's coming off a torn ACL. Like it or not that's going to affect his value. The most we'll get from someone, and I don't see it happening this way either, is a 1st and a 3rd with one pick coming in 2013 and the other in 2014, with MAYBE some incentives that would make the 3rd round pick a 2nd. That's the best deal you're going to get. More likely than not it will be a 1st and a 4th. |

You think someone's going to give us their 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks?

But the Broncos and Niners have great pass rushers, why would they need elite DBs?

Nobody is giving a #1, #2 and #3 for Revis.
Maybe a #2 and #3. Or a #1 if we are lucky. |

Getting a 1 2 and 3 is the equivilant of two #1's. Not an unreasonable take for Revis at all. It may however be spread over two drafts. That said I think Revis should not and will not be traded. People are panicking over our cap situation but that goes away in 2014. Better move is to pay him and push out the cap implications beyond 2014.

Here's my reasoning:
- Two excellent teams one step from winning the SB - Bidding against each other - Coming off of emotional losses where their secondary play was pathetic - Mix in the pressure of the "window closing" and you get a team willing to overpay |

The OP obviously didn't look at the team salary caps for 2013. SF wouldn't be able to afford Geiger, let alone Revis. Denver has 18.5 million in cap space, but i doubt they break the bank for Revis (Unless Bailey retires).
Some of the teams that have the cap space and are in need of a CB are Tampa Bay (31 million cap space available), Indy (46 million), and Cincy (55 million), http://nfltraderumors.co/nfl-team-cap-space-6/ |
