There should be a website with every play in the NFL.
In this day and age I should be able to type in a scenario and pull up video of a scenario, just like the coaches.
The rest of the stuff is garbage. |

How did we beat NE in the 2010 playoffs? Check out NFL Rewind. It may not include everything you want but I think it is the closest thing to what you are describing. |

NFL.com has a service where you can watch the All-22 film from any games over the last few years. I forget how much it costs.

I don't think he's talking about just the coaches film. He wants access to the database of plays that every team keeps.
You can do a search for: Patriots, 1st & 10, 1st quarter, 2009-2012; and pull up a list of all the plays that fit the criteria. I don't expect something like that to be available for quite some time. The NFL doesn't keep such a database for themselves, the individual teams do. For now, we merely have to settle for being able to watch every play from every game for the last 3-4 years, with coaches film for the last 2. |

Why do you want to go to a game and do all that stuff? The idea of going to the game is to be able to cheer in person. I don't like where they are going with the entire stadium experience. Pretty soon nobody is going to be focused on the game. This is part of the reason why the new stadium is like a library. IMO they should just accept that more people stay home and target those people by providing them different services. Make money that way and take their losses and lower ticket prices so the rabid fans can stay in the building. Let the techies stay home and enjoy their camera angles. |

At least 5 super bowls ago there was an IBM commercial with 2 guys talking about "the catch" (I think) and then some IBM guy says soon you will be able to find every play of every game, blah, blah, blah, for the minds of IBM or some such. I can't find the damn commercial but I remember it. Anyone else remember that? link?

Just doing some quick math there is about 75,000 plays a year in the league.
The file tree structure should not be that complicated. 17 weeks, 16 games 150 plays, and you could file it by what min of the game the ball was snapped but to search by down and distance would be tough. |

And the defensive signal along with audio from the microphones under the bench. The pats also have the 1/2 time adjustments from the opposing coaches in the locker room, but those are only available from home games

Well first you need the All-22 film, which until very recently wasn't available to the public, even paying subscribers. It now is (though think you need to pay a fee to access it), otherwise you only see what the TV camera sees and often can't see how Safeties and CBs like up, etc...
From there you just need the manpower to analyze every play of every team in every game. There are a bunch of groups out there doing this - Aaron Schatz's Football Outsiders is one of them. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/ |

We're fans, not coaches.
Even if we could break it down, 99% of us wouldn't know what we're breaking down anyway. |
