It would be nice if it was the same as everyone else. Don't always wrap your text in size, font, color, bold tags basically.

I have no idea if they've been posted yet, but The Strokes have always flirted with being under the radar or being slightly overrated by certain people, depending on who you ask.

Known primarily as the fathers of the "Hipster" genre they're a band that's always focused on writing simple songs that still have an element of musical technicality.

They're also one of the bands responsible for the newish fad/market for vintage amps/guitars/obscure brands by the under 30 aged musicians today. One of the more prominent tone-geek bands

I'll give you two underrated musicians from the latest incarnation of Styx: Keyboardist/vocalist/songwriter Lawrence Gowan and guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Tommy Shaw. Of course, Shaw had previous stints with Styx, Damn Yankees, and Shaw-Blades.

Caught this performance of Styx doing the entire Pieces of Eight and Grand Illusion albums yesterday on VH-1. Chorus at 2:10 is one of rock's greatest.

Tommy Shaw is the quintessentially under-rated musician. I thought STYX was over the top, but that's what we pay these guys for!

Absolutely. I bought Styx II when it was released and hung in until Pieces of Eight. Luckily, I was spared the bombast and idiocy of Kilroy Was Here.

They are better now with Gowan singing the Dennis DeYoung parts. Plus, he's a much better keyboardist. And drummer Todd Sucherman is impressive.

WCO, you ever listen to any of the Shaw-Blades covers? Shaw is so underrated.

Awesome. Did the battle already take place? If so, how'd they (he) do?

They get billed as the opening act or I walk.

No doubt, Beck respected Les Paul both as a musician and his pioneering work electrifying the guitar.
Hey, Borg, aren't you in Bergen County now?

Head up to the Mahwah Museum before June while they still have the Les Paul exhibit (he lived here in town). The original 8 track recorder is there, among some other neat items. Cool to see his experiments with solid state guitars, even as a kid. And if u go on the 27th, they're going to let folks play some of the guitars.

Not yet. But Mahwah is not too far away.

Thanks for the tip about the Les Paul exhibit. Really appreciate it and will try to get there.

I haven't seen Ernie Isley mentioned, I think he is underrated, but very Hendrix-ques style, but I guess when Jimi lives with you when growing up you can't help but to pick up a few of his habits.
