The jets have to make a decision at cornerback. Are they going to Trade Revis or sign him, if they trade him will it be done in march before he can work out for another team? Or in July when he is on the field and proven healthy. Downside being the teams with cap room may have already addressed the need or no longer have the 12-15 mill of space. Based on Revis' direction, is Cro traded 2weeks prior to the draft after the FA corner class is gone to whoever is left without a CB? Right now Revis's contract is the elephant in the room. |

In addition, we have had a good run of solid, but not spectacular RBs since the 80s with Freeman, Cmart, T. Jones, johhny hector, A Murrell, Richie Anderson, Blair Thomas, LT and Leon Washington. None were great (outside of maybe Cmart) but none were any worse than Greene. I can't see Powell being any worse than Greene and he will come at a much lower price tag. Getting rid of Greene is a no brainer move and he will likely have a hard time finding another team willing to give him a starting job. |

I can't believe that there are people who are out here saying he was held back by the OL and the QB. Are folks aware that Greene was one of the worst RB in the NFL with only one player to beat!!! The above fact was posted out here during the season and yet people want to play FF and act like if SG where playing with say Brady he would turn into Jim Brown!!!! Good Grief!!!

If the new team doctors give him a MRI and think that the knee will be sound, they could sign off on the trade, If they look and ligaments look frayed they may not. |

Shonn Greene has 6 carries in the last 2 seasons of 20+ yards
To put that in perspective: Only Cedric Benson has less 20+ yard gains of anyone who carried the ball more than 300 times over the last 2 seasons. Steven Jackson is the 2nd lowest of those who carried the ball 500+ times, 11 carries of 20+ yards. Shonn Greene had 42 Carries of 10+ yards. (I make the assumption of once you get past 10 yards on the ground, it's less about the OL and more about the RB). 14% of his carries of 10+ yards resulted in carries of 20+ yards. That's really, really bad. Again, of those who carried the ball more than 300x, only Ahmad Bradshaw had a lower number. The league average was over 25%. This is just one stat, and sort of a made up one, at that. But Shonn Greene, is not a playmaker, and it's not simply because "the Jets line isn't good". |

Just thought I would pass this along like I do for every Greene thread:
Not a great back by any stretch, but he has lost just 1 fumble in his past 698 touches. No other RB in the league can say that. |

Greene will not fit in Mornhinweg's system. RBs in west coast system have to be able to run off tackle and show production in the passing game. Greene can't do either.

We had LT on our team and Woodhead was never going to see the light of day. Granted, we could have really used Woodhead this year. |

Time to move on from Greene. He isn't terrible, but he isn't a bigtime playmaker and is pretty limited. I thank him for his contributions in the playoffs and wish him well. Fact is, nearly any RB we grab in 2nd or 3rd round can likely replace his production (and probably more explosion) behind our solid o-line.

Greene really only excelled once -- in 2009 when his role was to hammer the defense late in the second half after they were already tired.
As a feature back he's never been anything but disapointing. |
