They keep mentioning a repeat of the "Blizzard of 78" and those of us who are old enough to remember these scenes, are hoping they are exaggerating.
Tens of thousands of cars were just abandoned on the highways. It took days and days to get them out. ![]() Most of the state was declared an emergency with motor vehicle travel prohibited in most areas. ![]() I'm praying my front yard doesn't look like this on Saturday.

Now you get to leave beautiful warm weather for shoveling, no milk, no booze and no bread and no booze. Not to mention all the booze will be gone and so will the booze. - |

Oh I remember that storm, best time to be a kid. I was a wee lad of 9 at the time. We were out of school for days. At the time thought we thought such snowfalls were normal, only now did we find out it was a famous blizzard. "back in my day we used to have real storms...." :shakes_cane: |

I remember the Blizzard of '78. I was in Connecticut and it was bad there, too, though where I was in central CT didn't have the storm surge. The state was closed down for days, if I recall correctly. :shakespinkcane:
Another bad storm was 33 inches of wet snow on April 1st ('99 maybe) when I lived north of Boston. Horrible storm, tough to shovel, etc, etc, etc. Been through some nor-easters; not fun. Don't drive tomorrow if you don't have to! Stay safe, everyone! |

You should be able to use propane as well with your natural gas generator. Possibly came with a converter kit? 25lb tank lasts me about 8 hours.

You should just bury a 500 tank and pipe to your generator. I can go over a week on a full tank. Thankfully, we've only had to use it that long only once in the past 20 years. |
