Cribbs is a good slot he has just never had a good steady QB. If you compare their best years they aren't far off. Cribbs has never had 41 rec and 518 yds 4TDs the one year he really played WR. Oh that was 2011 by the way. Danny has had 2 years of 85 and 63 rec and 689 and 666 3 and 3 TDs yards with a real QB and was targeted more then all of them combined. Tate best year was in NE 24 rec 432 3TDs but has averages more YPC then any of them. Ginn did have 56 rec 790 yards and 2 TDs one year. Danny's #s as a WR aren't exactly stunning. Any of them would be an OK sub in the 3 or 4 spot.

The Pats should have signed him to a 3 yr deal prior to this season. They could have given him some upfront money and paid him a total of $25m over the 3 yrs and even have him cuttable in year 3. They will probably end up moving on because he now will want a 3 yr deal, which is realistically too long at this point. But bottom line, the Pats are much worse off without Welker. Sure he had some big drops that cost them but his overall consistency is what got them to where they were.

Sure his productivity will drop at some point, but we haven't seen it yet. Pats fans are conditioned to see him leave - I'm not sure they appreciate him the way they should. Playing against him, I think Jet fans are not said to see him go, assuming he does.

Lets face it, while Welker is a good receiver, he is a product of the Bradey system and will not put up the numbers in another system. that system brings players up a notch without a doubt. not a big fan at big money, or even so so money.

The people hoping that Welker leaves so the Pats have enough room to sign Boldin are killing me man, killing me.

Boldin's great but Welker is a perfect fit for what happens in New England and his 2 big drops the last 2 years are outliers in an otherwise incredibly productive tenure at New England.

I do love Edelman, and I think he could be really special, but he's different than Welker and not as durable.

Only stupid teams pay players for what they did in the past.

Pats are not a stupid team.

Welker has played his last down for the Pats.

This. The Pats can easily replace welker with another quick sure handed slot WR. With Gronk and Hernandez becoming stars a guy like Welker becomes more of a luxury than a necessity. If the Pats were able to get a guy like Kerley they wouldn't miss a beat.

Before Brady the Pats were the laughing stock horses a$$ of that division for approximately 46 of those 50 years..

After Brady in 2014 or so..look for a quick return to those glorious days in the toilet

What are you talking about? Having an elite, HoF QB has absolutely nothing to do with it. Don't you realize that Ryan Whoeverthehell is going to step in and they won't miss a beat? Surely you realize this.

No, that distinction still belongs to the Jets.

Prior to Brady, Pats still have 7 division titles and 2 Conference championships.

The Jets have only 2 division titles and zero Conference championships in their entire existance.

What team is the laughingstock?

Yes John, but they did not have Bruce Ariens last year. If they can find an even a middle-of-the-pack qb, that offense is going to be a lot more exciting.

You have it way too easy being a Pats fan, bottom feeding on sg3.
As an exercise, you should spend a month debating all points from a Jets fan perspective ... then we will see if you are insightful or just enjoy beating up on the neighbourhood delinquents.

How did you enjoy your 6-10 season?

You said the Jets would finish 12-4.

This.

The miget was paid ten million last year. He should be grateful he plays with a QB who makes him look good. And grateful BB saved him from the joke of a franchise in Miami.

Actually BBs pal Saban is the guy he should thank!
No way in hell does any coach trade within the division to a team that your chasing!
That was a big FU from Saban to Miami & I'm surprised ownership at Miami didn't veto it. Saban had huge power & did his buddy BB a solid B4 he left them in the lurch.

Can't argue with this. Personally, I'd love to see what Tx could do with someone with an intellect greater than a slow eleven year old.
