Big fan of Chris Cornell. Also like Maynard from Tool, A Perfect Circle, etc. Phil Anselmo is really good

Of course McCartney/Lennon, but I never could say one stood out while on stage so I didn't put them in. I'll throw out a couple more not mentioned.

-Geddy Lee, just love the voice and obviously Rush is an acquired taste but easily one of my top 5 favorite bands

-Anthony Kiedis, great voice for one of the best of the 90's bands and still kicking a$$ today

-Sting, when he was with The Police

-Roger Daltrey, don't think I saw his name somehow

-Meatloaf, now I only am a fan of BOOH 1, but such heart he put into singing

He was mentioned at least 6 times before your post.

Waters/Gilmour (hard to pick one over the other, like the Lennon/McCartney debate)

Maybe not A-list front men but need honorable mention

Steven Tyler

Alice Cooper

Ronnie Van Zant

Paul Rodgers

Gavin Rossdale

Kurt Cobain

Michael Stipe

R Plant
DLR ... Circa 1981
J Morrison
Bono
F Mercury

.... Then all the others ....

S Perry
Bon Scott
R Waters
B Delp
Cobain
Hetfeild
Sting (police)
Etc etc etc

.... Add the Lone Rangers ... Who were not technically front men

Elvis
J Cash
Bowie
Costello

Nah...

too many to count really....

Elvis is really a solo but youd have to count the 50s rockers....Vincent, Cochran etc

in the classic rock era Bowie, Jagger, Daltrey, Plant, Mercury

followed by Rod the Mod, Eric Burdon, Hendrix, Van Morrison, Jim Morrison, Ray Davies, Springsteen, Iggy Pop, Bolan, Prince, Tyler, Elton John, some of the punk brigade - Hynde, Bono, Johnny Rotten, Joe Strummer

followed by Marriott Phil Lynott, Rose, Cobain, Mustaine

not sure about Lou Reed Billy Joel or Joey Ramone

dont think Gene Clark or Keith Relf were really commanding front men
