Tate best year was in NE 24 rec 432 3TDs but has averages more YPC then any of them. Ginn did have 56 rec 790 yards and 2 TDs one year. Danny's #s as a WR aren't exactly stunning. Any of them would be an OK sub in the 3 or 4 spot.
Tate, cribbs and Ginn all play flanker.

I think you're underestimating what he brings you guys. Edelman is not a good enough replacement. If you sign a guy like Jennings, fine - but Amendola isn't enough either

How's the Sanchez, Harris and Revis contract working out for you?

Perfect example of the difference between the Pats and Jets.
Stinko was paid $6 mill and has a $1.5 mill negative effect in 2013.
Anything else you don't have a clue about??

2009 Playoffs......No Welker.......Baltimore 33 -NE 14
Brady's line 23/42 (54%) 154 yds (6 yds/comp) 2 TDs 3INTs 24

You really don't have any use for facts do you?

It was one guy, The list was what 6 names. And a 6 mill mistake in FA from another team is not unusual. It is not like they guaranteed him money in future years.

They made a 22 million dollar mistake with A Thomas. Not as bad as Scott or Pace, but a bad deal.

Yes there is going to be a downgrade at that position. But you don't look for another Welker you look for another receiver that can do other things to diversify the offense.

Right now 90% of the pats offense takes place between the hashes With Gronk running seems, and hernandez and welker running 0s,2s and 4s. The other 10% is Lloyd or branch running 1s and 3s. What they need is WRs running more 7s and 9s to pull the safeties wide. When Lloyd runs a hitch you got all 4 guys between the hashes. So while the guy taking Welkers roster spot will not be Welker talent wise, the change is scheme can help mask the loss.

The pats need a guy like Hill, but one who can catch. Guys to replace Branch and Welker to me are Brandon Gibson and Devery Henderson and re-sign Endleman. All three can be had for the price of Welker.

I feel confident that Brady, BB and McDaniel can adjust 20% of the pass plays and still be one of the top 3 in passing offenses

What does that have to do with the 2012 season he's referring to? The 2009 offense was literally nothing but Moss and Welker, naturally it was anemic once Welker went down. The 2012 offense was much more diverse.

The Patriots offense was fine before Welker and they'll be fine after he's gone. They'll simple adjust. As long as they have Brady they'll be fine. Period.

So you picked on game in which Welker didn't play, nonetheless 4 seasons ago, and you think you proved a point? Brilliant!

That pass was wide left and Welker had to a do a quick 180 spin just to get a finger on it.

The problem with the management of the Pats is that they want things both ways. They don't want to pay him for what he's done and also don't want to pay him going forward either because he's worn out. He was smart to take the 9.5 million.

That was a big FU from Saban to Miami & I'm surprised ownership at Miami didn't veto it. Saban had huge power & did his buddy BB a solid B4 he left them in the lurch.
The Fins left him unprotected with a 2nd round tender and the Pats let them know they would pick him up, so they threw in an extra late round pick.

Exactly.

Unlike other teams in the NFL, the Pats never have to rebuild, they just reload.

Do you actually believe this or are you just trolling? You understand that Saban left the fins the first week in January, which is 6 weeks prior to when the fins designated Welker a 2rd tender and almost 3 months before the trade happened. Now if you want to believe that Saban told BB that Welker was all that he seemed to be in catching 70 passes from harrigton etc, I do believe that Saban told BB that his ethic was stron etc.

That was not a drop on Welker in the Super Bowl. That was a terrible pass by Brady and Welker made a great effort to even get his hands on it. Wrong shoulder and behind him at full speed down the seam! That should have been a TD and Brady's signature Super Bowl moment but he choked!!!

Brady has been pretty bad in the last few Patriot playloff losses. His inability to throw down the field really hinders that offense against good teams. That throw to Welker in the SB is just one example of that. Brady makes a better throw, Pats win.

Yeah, Brady is really holding back that offense. The Pats haven't had a WR who can stretch the field since Moss, and even he was ineffective at gaining separation by the time he was shipped out of town. Brady's deep ball isn't good, but it's not terrible, either. If you gave him someone who can actually get behind a safety or beat man coverage once in a while, he'd throw deep far more often.

Is that why they signed Lloyd?

I realize speaking negatively about golden boy gets people in a twist....but's he's a ****ty down the field passer.

Im not talking about bombs(which he's not very good at either) Im talking about the types of throws Rodgers can make consistently...that even Flacco makes....Eli can make...what Russel WIlson was doing last year....

Brady isnt that type of passer. They're extremely well coached and he's accurate as hell within 10 yards...but when teams press and force the Pats to beat them...they struggle a bit.

keep saying that as the clock on Brady winds down. Without Brady, Belichick will need to have top talent around him, like the year Cassel had to replace him. You are delusional if you think that sort of thing is sustainable.

What's the deal with Mallet? Can the boy play or what?

He throws a better deep ball than Brady, that's for sure. His upside is probably Joe Flacco, which as we saw is good enough to win a SB. Who knows if he will ever get a chance to deliver on that upside in NE.

Mallet might have the strongest arm in the NFL.
