The amount of TDs that "Revis stops" is unquantifiable.

Here are the total number of games played when he was injured:

2005- 13
2007- 9
2010- 13
2011- 7

So out of 160 games, Johnson has only missed 22 games due to injury.

Also, you don't think 1,500 yards is an elite number for a WR? Johnson has exceeded that 3 times, including last year.

He is an elite WR in the NFL.
You did make your point. My point is that Harvin has the makeup to be a top 5 WR. A gamechanger that the Jets sorely need. Just my opinion thats all.

According to a "high-ranking Vikings source," Percy Harvin "expects" an extension similar to the deals recently signed by Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald.

geez... it's been 10 years since Andre Johnson was drafted? Damn time flies. You must be nearing 90 by now.

2) He is a top 5 receiver and a very good runner too.
3) Someone other than Sanchez who I think will be unseated as the starter by FA QB.
I think some of what you are saying is accurate and true. But, you may be missing some other pieces to the pie. Your paying Holmes to be a top 10 WR and he's un-cuttable this season. You can cut him next season with a cap hit of $5m which depending on who else you have on the roster may make sense. Second the Jets invested in WR Hill. Now for what's it's worth he didn't have a good rookie campaign - but he was a rookie, so we have to give him time to develop before we start investing in top flight WR's. Third, You can't bring a high priced FA in without paying Revis first. And while a case can be made that in Rex's defense last year we played better than average at the CB position, there are serious question marks if Cro can continue to play at the Pro-Bowl level like he did last year. You know that he and Revis make the best tandem in the league, I doubt you want to break that up to bring in a WR who will demand top 5 monies.

Nice post Brick...I agree with you in a financial sense. However, I kind of responded to this post because of the title which IMO is not correct. I think Harvin is a very good fit for this team regarding his talents. That being said he will not get top 5 money from anyone and I think its just posturing by his agent. If the Jets can figure out a way to acquire him for what its worth the AFC east would be put on notice and all of our opponents will have to game plan to stop him.

No, Tebow has got to go and trading for Harvin would mean he's staying.
