Always an interesting read. I also heard him on this week's Rich Eisen podcast and he was saying that he's not as big of a fan as the DE/OLB group as others. He specifically said he didn't think Mingo or Moore are as good as people are making them out to be (they're not Von Miller), but said he's really high on Dion Jordan.

Other nuggets from his interview:

-doesn't like the QB class.
-the top end of the draft isn't good, not much of a difference between the 5th and 20th pick.
-great draft for depth, loves the overall talent available in the first 3 rounds.
-loves the D and O linemen.

I am not a fan of Landry Jones. The two guys not listed above that I really like are Tyler Bray & Tyler Wilson. While Wilson seems to be a good fit for the WCO, I'm not sure how Bray would fit into it. But if I had to pick between the two, I think I'd choose Bray. His leadership qualities have been questionable, but I like the way he plays. Physically, he reminds me of Bernie Kosar.

I have liked Bray for a while now. A very good friend of mine is a UT alum and an active booster for them and says his off the field issues and "leadership" concerns are over blown. The kid has had 3 head coaches during his time at UT and really hasnt been coached up very well yet. Once he starts throwing for teams his name will start coming up more in the QB discussion.

As far as a fit in the WCO, I have no idea but if people are saying Foles was successful in it I would think Bray could be as well. They are almost the same prospect coming out of college.

Only real shocker is him leaving Hunter out of his WRs. This is a really good WR class though. Hunter is my #2 but Patterson my #3 Allen all the way. Those 3 could all be 1st rounders. Terrance Williams maybe if RG3 really campaigns for him.

Brey as a talent is the #3 QB but for other reasons will not be a high pick. I could see him as a 3rd rounder still. Not right for us ATM but I think he could do well if he went to the right team.

Some interesting decisions at RB, DT and OC . It is often said that Mayock uses tape to determined his ranking. All the games are over, and all the tape is available so his rankings should not change much.

It will be interesting to see what happens to these rankings after the Combines.

Just for a little perspective - Mayock's 2011 list shows quite a few holes (in hindsight). He's far from infallible:

I think Lacy will be the 1st RB picked and he will be a stud in the NFL.

Interesting to see him put Patterson as the top WR. Nobody else has done that to my knowledge, but I think Mayock is right. Patterson has rare ability.

And Barkley could still be a top 10 pick. His stock, IMO, is being sandbagged by teams who hope he falls to them.

Ansah for the Jets at 9!

Other than the QBs he was pretty spot on.
QBs will always be the toughest to evaluate going from college to the pros.
There are so many factors.
Would Kapernick & RG3 been good QBs when you were actually allowed to hit the QB?
Even tougher evaluation with all these rule changes unless your looking at someone like Andrew Luck & it's a no brainer.
While Bill Parcells turned the Jets around his selfishness as a mercenary kept the NY Jets from having Payton Manning at QB for 12 years!

average size, arm, and ceiling... His stock is going to dip a further IMO with Smith, Glennon and Nassib all going before... All have bigger upsides.

I just find it hard to believe Glennon and Nassib will be better than Barkley.

Sure their upsides are higher, and so is their bust potential.

Both of those players would love to have the passing numbers and experience Barkley has.

This is exactly like when Blaine Gabbert (Glennon) and Christian Ponder (Nassib) were picked ahead of Andy Dalton (Barkley) because they had higher upside. How'd that work out?

Quinton Patton is going to be a stud. Totally will blow the tops off of opposing defenses

The list is dated January 2011. Pre-combine/pro days and most likely he wasn't finished watching film on all the players. I remember hearing Mayock on the radio a couple of months before the draft and he said he just got through watching tape of Mo Wilk from Temple and he's ready to put a 1st round grade on him.
