I dont think anyone is better, but I'd throw the Beach Boys, the Allmans etc. in there too.
Thought the show was great. Henley is one intense dude....he reminded me more of a civil war General in the end...than a musician. Frey came off like a real sharp, ruthlessly ambitious guy who never really thought of the band as anything other than him and Henley, despite the rotating cast of support players. Geffen came off like a tool, but I'll never understand why Don would go with him again after the first go round....his complaining sounded hollow, since he knew what Geffen was about all along. Lots of respect for Rondstat for the way she handled the boys leaving her band. All in all, a great watch. ![]() - |

Folks like to rip tons of stuff I like. I get to say I hate things, too.
No offense to SOOTH or anyone else who likes The Eagles. BUT, IMO, it's elevator music designed to be on the corporate side of the rock spectrum. The Doobie Brothers or Poco could play and write circles around them. That is, if we're talking about rock tunes, not easy listening, where The Eagles would have the clear advantage. |

Don't know much about the band. Just the stuff we would have heard on FM radio or in the dorms. Seems like they could play, unlike Glen Frey, who couldn't wait to sell out and go Hollywood.

BG, you seem to have a dislike similar to Francesa and his hatred of the Jets, what gives? While agreed the Eagles are not the greatest band that ever lived ( that title is owned by The Grateful Dead, lol.) they surely have made some good music even David Johansen sold out.

Henley's reminds me of Sting, Henley could of stayed a very successful solo act, but unlike Sting he "let" the other band mates back to make some serious money.
