You don't take Patterson in the Top 10, sorry.

This is no different than when Stephen Hill was being hyped at one point last year as a mid 1st round pick. But when the dust settled, he went where he should have.

You don't take a receiver in the Top 10 unless he's a Julio Jones/A.J. Green type of prospect. Patterson isn't close to that.

Grab Warmack or one of the passrushers at #9.

If you want a receiver then I'd much rather have a guy like Quinton Patton or Justin Hunter in the 2nd/3rd than Patterson in the 1st.

remember...your talking about a guy who drafted Vlad in the 2nd round and Wilson in the 1st. BOTH have proven not worthy of those spots.

Hey, I could show you a highlight of Gholston demolishing Jake Long in college.

LOL. I know.

BTW, I was no part of this kid with the 9th pick. We can't afford to botch this pick.

How about Bray and Patterson in a package deal? I'll take them both.

The only way I think this would be a good pick is if Moore, Jones, Mingo, and Warmack are all gone. I would probably still take Ansah or Jordan over Patterson but that's closer.
Warmack was the only one of those Tannenbaum mocked.

Here was his top 10:

Chiefs: Joeckel
Jags: Milliner
Raiders: Floyd
Eagles: Lotuleilei
Lions: Jordan
Browns: Warmack
Cardinals: Smith
Bills: Vaccaro
Jets: Patterson
Titans: Richardson

That is a truly awful job. Warmack, Joeckel, Lotuleilei, Milliner and potentially Smith are likely to be the only ones of that group in the top 10, and Milliner at 2 is crazy. No Moore, no Jones, no Fisher, no Werner . . . I think it's highly unlikely the Jets have their pick of Moore/Jones/Werner/Mingo/Ansah at 9 - and definitely no chance Dion Jordan goes ahead of all 5 of those.

Pretty clear how much Tannenbaum misses his scouting department

Wow, I had not seen his entire top 10. He passed on Moore for Patterson??

LOL. He does miss the scouts.

Simple explanation for the omits. Tanny has no idea what a pass rusher looks like or how to evaluate one.

Wilkerson is the ONLY stud POST Mangini on your list. I might add Coples to that list and deep down I think HILL will be solid too.

But I think Tanny, without a REAL football guy to help, can't evaluate talent well.

Nor can rex.

Patterson is a MUCH better route runner than Hill was at this point in their young careers. That goes without question

Hands though... all about the hands

Better route runner than Hill? Sure

But I want nothing to do with a raw, body catching receiver in the Top 10.

Hopefully someone like Warmack or Jones/Moore falls to us.

yet, if miami drafts him, let's see the jets contain both as a wr, rb and in the return game. he's exactly the kind of guy the jets pass on and then he goes on to score on them time and time again.

and as cordarelle crosses the goal line against the jets, i'll say to myself, sure he's good, but alas, we have a real strong guard.

So Tannenbaum had nothing to do with the many good picks in his tenure but gets the blame for those that didn't work out?....wasn't Mangini there when Gholston was picked?

Confused

Reading comprehension issues???? I didnt say anything like that. I actually credited his term for more players on your list than you did. He simply is NOT even average IMO. We had more wasted picks since 2009 than a good team should.

My point is..IMO, TANNY is not even close to a good talent evaluator on his own.

Were good picks made..sure, you and I could make good picks. MANY teams did better and their records show it.
