That might happen.

There are a whole bunch of WRs in that 2nd round area, maybe 7 or 8 guys with 2nd round grades, so at least a couple will drop into the 3rd.

Guys like Goodwin and Stills running 4.2s might creep into the 2nd just because of how fast they ran. Swope could rise based on his speed too.

I'm not counting on Woods being available in the 3rd... but it's certainly a possibility.

I am officially on the Jonathan Franklin bandwagon. Should be available in the 3rd, maybe the 4th. Complete back with decent speed and good quickness.

Agreed. There a few guys in the 3rd-4th round range that are appealing. I like Barner in a WCO as well.

Yes. I really think he could be a solid fit here.

He's another guy with jaw dropping stats 1767 yards rushing, 21TD, 6.4 YPC... and yes, he played in that wacky Oregon system where everyone puts up numbers. But still. That's crazy.

agreed. i'd take him in the 3rd, i doubt he lasts to the 4th.

I still want this guy.

Perfect fit for what we want to do on offense.

This might even push him down into the 4th/5th round range.

Barner is a better between the tackle runner than he is given credit for. Most people think he is a "in space" guy, but he knows how to run.

That does matter for RBs. I would never draft a RB who ran slower than some OL players.

Name a successful NFL back who is this slow.

+1. There are a lot of potential WCO fits in this RB class, don't want the one that has the speed of a fullback.

The kid is faster than a 4.7

Jerry Rice ran a 4.71 before the Niners drafted him. He sure as hell wasn't that slow on the field.

And who cares what the hell these OL run?

Bruce Campbell ran a 4.7 a few years back. Has he even started a game since the Raiders drafted him?

I guarantee that guys like Warmack and Warford have a way bigger impact at the next level than Lane Johnson and the kid from JMU.

We need SPEED at RB for the WCO.
You need guys that have that burst of acceleration when you run those draws & screens.

I asked you to name one successful RB in today's NFL who ran 4.7 -- you can't because he does not exist.

That is his timed speed, running on the same track as his peers. That's how fast he is. Maybe his game speed is a little faster, but not by much. On tape, he looks like a marginally athletic, well-rounded player with smarts... and you can get away with that in college. Not so much in the NFL.

If given the option of picking Molasses Taylor or a comparably skilled RB (Gillislee, Franklin, Barner, Jamison) with average to above-average speed, I'll take the faster guy every single time.

I mentioned OL players running faster just to offer some perspective on how slow Taylor ran. He was in the same class as men 8 inches taller and 100 pound heaver. That's terrible.

Taylor didn't look like he was a natural pass catcher all the much to me either. He doesn't have stone hands by any means, but let the ball get to his body a few times.

You know I've been critical of Geno. I think it was a mistake that he didn't participate in the senior bowl.

With that said, if a coach is certain that they can get the escape routes to be cerebral in him, he'll be deadly. And I won't upset if we take Geno

I'm really impressed by his speed. He is a pocket guy, but that mobility and speed comes in handy. I think he didn't always get a chance to show off his arm with some of the shorter routes West Virginia ran. He's very accurate on deep throws when he had the chance. Hard worker, student of the game too.
