Powell has done nothing that should lead anyone to think he is anything but average at best. If he is a better overall back than Greene, then so be it, but if Powell is the #1 back next year, our ground game will be very average again. This is not a defense of Greene, as the same would be true for him.

There's NO reason to delay the process. Start Geno

Atlanta is believable and probably true, Denver is hands down BS and not a snow balls chance in hell that he'll wind up there. Greene protecting Peyton? Catching balls? LOLROFLLMFAO. He won't wind up in Denver or back here.

Shonn Greene has only lost 1 fumble in the past two years and 6 overall in 4 years.

As part of an rb stable the dude has shown he can be productive. All the best buddy. Jets need a blazer with good hands at rb, who isn't a liability in pass protection, hopefully we can pick one up in the draft. Even better would be if we can get any compensatory pick for Shonn

Any RB who can get more then what is blocked for him.
Our line was a good run blocking line, even howard graded out as a very good run blocking tackle, yet green didnt even average 4 yards a carry. He cant catch and isnt a good pass protector, so there are 2 of 3 skills for a RB that he was below average at. Its a shame that powell didnt play more....that will finally change this year. |

Makes sense for ATL. Funny as it sounds, Greene is an upgrade on Michael Turner going forward. Just keep him away from here and I'm happy.

sorry but he is not below average.....give the man some credit....he will be gone though and I wish him the best. 2 straight 1,000 yards seasons may make him an average back, but the man is not below average. |

Greene is a strong downhill runner that seeks out contact because he is too stupid to avoid contact. He has a high pain threshold, which is good for him, because trying to run over tackles every time he touches the ball causes him constant injury. He gets up limping, dazed and in pain throughout the game.
The Jets got the best his career had to offer. He will likely finish out his career addicted to painkillers. Bye bye, dumb@$$. |

Good to see him gone... PFF had his stats pretty clear and it was obvious to anyone who watched. He simply didn't break tackles. And the blocking was pretty solid for the most part despite what some clowns around here think.

I believe he can be successful when paired with a speedy compliment back.

Since when is Greene a power back? He's a back who runs to contact any chance he gets, but he goes down easily. The last time Greene ever ran anyone over was in the playoffs against SD. Since then "power back" is probably the last thing he is. He's just a RB who takes what his line gives him, and if he does break it to the next level he tends to run right to the tackler instead of trying to get around him. He leaves yardage all over the field.
