Oy vey! That's a bunch of mishegoss. I always pictured NY with a good Jewish deli on every corner!

There are still some good ones here in the Detroit area.

Bingo. The food is salty and full of fat but delicious. I eat at Jewish deli's once a week in Florida in the winter. 3Gs in Delray beach always has a waiting line to get in. The food is expensive but exceptional quality. Everything in moderation, right.

Last time I was there was maybe five years ago or more. Had a gf that moved to Boston; relationship ship didn't last. Stopping at Rein's was the highlight of the trip.

Not sure if it was there are somewhere else that had may favorite indulgence, pastrami between to potato latkes (instead of rye). This would probably kill me now. I've also had to switch from the fried square knish to the baked round ones. Getting old sucks.

I live in Rockland so the one in New City is pretty good, plus Elvis works there. Also a decent one in White Plains on Central.

I'm the only jew at my workplace so they all come to me with their questions like "why to you guys do this or that?" One guy went into a kosher deli on LI and asked for a Reuben and they kicked him out! Didn't know why. I had to explain it to him.

They still have Bens by me, which is not bad, though like Katzs' in the city, all the old Jewish COunter guys have died off or retired and were replaced by Spanish speaking guys.

Big hit in the pocket and the cholesterol, but still worth it once in a blue moon.

That's not right....check out Harold's in NJ - you can get yourself a proper deli meal replete with a knish. Question is - do you keep it real with Dr. Browns celray or do you pay it safe with the Black Cherry?

There were once 1200 Jewish Delis in the Bronx, 150 as of 1960, and now there are but 2 -Liebman's and Loeser's with the recent closing of the oldest, Skyline. Havent tried them (!) but I have heard Tower was one of the best.

Besides Katz's, 2 I highly recommend the Woodro in Hewlett LI, Hobby's in Newark, Attman's in Baltimore and Schwartz's in Montreal. Others recommend Jay & Lloyd's and Mill Basin in Brooklyn and Famous 4th St in Philly.

Rubin's in Brookline is OK, not spectacular.

Please be specific.

The one in Edison or the one in Lyndhurst the one in Parsippany owned by the Greek guy who got nailed for CC fraud?

To be frank, I have no clue. My knowledge of jersey is little beyond the meadowlands and the turnpike. But I used to date a girl from jersey and I went there with her family and remembered it being good. Trying to get Paulie a legit knish without making the trek to Yonah Schimmels.

How did that even hold together after the first bite? Don't doubt it was lethal. One of those dropped on Ireland could prolly wipe out the whole country.
