Gil Brandt ‏@Gil_Brandt
Lots of people probably disappointed John Cyprien can't run at #NFLCombine because of a hamstring injury. Coaches really wanted to see him.

Matt Bowen ‏@MattBowen41
Really wanted to see SS Jonathan Cyprien run today. Out with an injury. I was impressed watching him practice at the Senior Bowl.

DBs working out today at #NFL combine. 40 times carry some weight, but focus should also be on position drills.

You want DBs with clean transition skills (open the hips), range on deep ball drills + plant and drive skills. Footwork is key today.

Tyrann Mathieu's unofficial 4.43 in 40 at #NFLCombine helps him clear one hurdle in draft process. Answers doubts about his running ability.

Mathieu just made himself some money. Sub 4.5.

Nickel/Dime, KR/PR, gunner.

Mayock: 'Mr. Milliner, welcome to the Top 10.'

Gil Brandt ‏@Gil_Brandt
Dee Milliner shows why he's considered a top-10 pick with that unofficial 4.31 in 40 at #NFLCombine. Really, really helped himself.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet
Why would Dee Milliner put off surgery to run at #NFLCombine? He knew he'd blaze. Just ran a 4.31 40. Wow. That's Top 5 speed there.

Gil Brandt ‏@Gil_Brandt
Slow 40 time for a DB not necessarily the end all, be all. Cone drill and short shuttle offer chance for redemption at #NFLCombine. ...

Cone and shuttle drills show how quickly DBs can change direction, which is key in pass coverage. Guy like Johnthan Banks can rebound there.

He still can not cover anyone though. Kid is still dumb as dirt and put up only 4 reps on the bench press.

Mike Mayock on Mathieu: I think he is a better football player than athlete. He is a playmaker/difference in the kicking game.

Coaches want to see times under 7 seconds in the cone drill. Let's see how this group of DBs does and who responds to the challenge.

If he only contributes on special teams, nickel packages and occasionally on offense he is still worth a 3-4 round pick.kid is a playmaker and his 40 proves it will translate to the nfl.

Senior Bowl ‏@seniorbowl
And D Milliner solidifies his spot in the top 10 with an @seniorbowl clocking of 4.36. He won't get past Phi at 4, Det at 5 or Cle at 6.

The kid is still a f*****g moron. Probably as dumb of a player that is out there. I wouldnt even have him on my draft board.

I think he will now be a 4th round pick at worst. I don't think he will ever be a starter on defense. I am not sure if I would even want him at my #3 CB. But the STs value is undeniable. He will play on every ST unit.

The bench press is alarming but it is the least important of all the workouts they do at the combine for CBs.

And football smarts and book smarts are too different things. there are some dummies that can ball. The biggest issue is the drugs. And the hair has to go, even Eminem stopped it.

Its not book smarts, its common sense. Kid lacks both. How do you fail all those drug tests, go to rehab (which is a joke for weed IMO), then come back and get arrested for possession??
