Matt Cassell
Is he now a possibility? God knows he's dreadful, but the list of viable alternatives is shrinking every week.

Play Sanchez and continue to build around, and for your future Qb. It's the best way to move forward considering we have been set back so far on O, not just Sanchez.

This also opens us up to trade for Foles now that KC is out of the picture...
Would prefer Foles or Flynn to anyone else. |

Matt Moore Jason Campbell David Garrard Josh Johnson Byron Leftwich Brady Quinn Vince Young Matt Leinart Rex Grossman David Carr Derek Anderson Drew Stanton QUOTE] I have eliminated some and highlighted some QB's that the Jets should consider before Cassell. Odds are, the Jets won't be able to afford to invest in anyone who is guaranteed to beat out Sanchize. If so, this would be my strategy: 1) Sanchez 2) Draft best available QB in 2-4 depending up value 3) Let McElNoodle compete for a roster spot - I expect he will be cut. Can't have guys just "hanging around" if there is no future. 4) Bring in Vince Young for sure at minimum to compete for a roster spot. Before the wheels fell off, he was pretty good and won some playoff games. Most of the guys available never had the wheels fall off b/c they never got the wheels on at all. Cut him quickly if there is nothing left in the tank. All reward - no risk transaction. 5) In Order, try to bring in Matt Moore, Jason Campbell, David Garrard, and Matt Leinart to compete for a spot on the roster and/or the starting job. Key Fact: The Jets need to plan on keeping 4 roster spots (including potentially a practice squad guy) for QB. When you don't have quality, you need some quantity to keep things moving. Projected Roster: 2013 1) Matt Moore Starter 2) Sanchize Backup 3) Vince Young Backup 4) Rookie TBD/Project who may or may not be on practice squad. Projected Roster: 2014 1) Matt Moore or Vince Young as starter/backup 2)a) 2nd Year Guy - threatening to start or about ready to start b) Rookie - early draft pick selected to take over quickly 3) Veteran Backup/Young Talented Guy. Note: my list left of Colt McCoy. While he will never lead the Jets to the title, he is better than anyone on the list as a stopgap. If he his available, the Jets need to grab him. RULE: NEVER take a QB named Caleb |

The Beagles have been duping people into trading for their backups for years. Don't trade anying of value for "Just a guy." Teams that do that end up like the Cardinals.

Yeah, let's pick up the 1 QB who was actually worse than Sanchez last season and got benched before he did.

Here's hoping that GS3 under center, and Coples on
the edge works out.
