I'm with you on drafting a QB (only I'm thinking wait until rd 3 at the earliest). But we need a vet that should be able to beat Sanchez in TC. I wouldn't want our developing QB to see the field unless he's Russell Wilson II.

Cassel was actually worse than Sanchez last year. Cassel was ranked 32nd in QB rating while Sanchez was 31st (66.9 vs. 66.7).

Most of the guys available never had the wheels fall off b/c they never got the wheels on at all. Cut him quickly if there is nothing left in the tank. All reward - no risk transaction.

5) In Order, try to bring in Matt Moore, Jason Campbell, David Garrard, and Matt Leinart to compete for a spot on the roster and/or the starting job.

Key Fact: The Jets need to plan on keeping 4 roster spots (including potentially a practice squad guy) for QB. When you don't have quality, you need some quantity to keep things moving.

Projected Roster: 2013
1) Matt Moore Starter
2) Sanchize Backup
3) Vince Young Backup
4) Rookie TBD/Project who may or may not be on practice squad.

Projected Roster: 2014
1) Matt Moore or Vince Young as starter/backup
2)a) 2nd Year Guy - threatening to start or about ready to start
b) Rookie - early draft pick selected to take over quickly
3) Veteran Backup/Young Talented Guy.

The Beagles have been duping people into trading for their backups for years. Don't trade anying of value for "Just a guy." Teams that do that end up like the Cardinals.

I wouldn't mind seeing what Carr can do. It's been long enough for him to get another chance. A lot better than Vince Young anyway.
