He could just tell the dealer that his newly leased car was in a horrific crash with a turkey-wielding senior citizen on a 3HP scooter. Say the senior citizen is fine, the scooter sustained minimal damage...but the car was totaled, I mean complete mangled mess....and it also smells like Thanksgiving!

I would tell him to show me where in writing it says that I got a $1,000 discount for it and that You have to give them a copy of your old lease. I highly doubt it does.

Then I probably would tell him I will give it to him if he gave me, in writing, at least half of the money.

That $1,000 is pure profit to the dealer. It's a $1,000 rebate of some sort that he never told you about.


A few options...

1. Offer to Sell it to him for $900.

2. Email him a link to an eBay posting where you have it up for auction with an opening bid of...$900.

EDIT: If he puts in a bid...you then bid $905.

3. Follow green's plan...but use a hot air balloon...preferably not an Egyptian one.

4. Trade the lease paper for 3 years of free oil changes and services.
