So the question would you trade Revis just for their second round pick. That's the best they are going to offer for Revis.(one year rental as they can't absorb signing him to extension). Clearly the jets aren't getting fair value for Revis but that what happens when you give up the franchise tag. |

We'll probably find out.
I'm not a fan of Alex Smith, so to me the deal looks bad for KC. At first I thought it was dumb to drop Smith as the starter, but the 9ers handled the whole thing perfectly by taking him out after a good stretch. |

Oh ok....I did not realize that you work for the 49ers front office and is privvy to what they are going to to...lolGET REAL! You think the 49ers would only give up ONE pick for Revis...while also saying that they are willing to take him even if he does not want to sign an extension? You have NO clue to what the niners will be offering the Jets. Quote:

So you are saying it's the coaching and system as opposed to the player?

I still think Alex Smith is massively overrated by the media and most posters on JI. |

not to sound bad but smith is sanchez and vis a versa.
Smith was bust for how long till a system suited him. Sanchez had 2 yrs where he helped the team get to conference finals and then had 1 meeh yr and one awful yr with little to no help. You get smith here and it he may do well considering the qb friendly system is coached by our new OC or Sanchez might do ok if he was not damaged by the coaching staff the hits and lack of help. But excuse me now because the haters are going to hate but look at the fact and they do not lie |

Better to be financially stuck with only one crappy QB instead of two of them. Smith is just Sanchez with a little seasoning. A crap QB who when surrounded by elite talent and coaching can give you mediocre offensive results (3 and out most of the time, helping Akers set the all-time field goal records despite the 2011 team setting the NFL record for most ever drives starting in opponent territory AND most forced turnovers ever forced by a defense, 2-27 record when the defense gives up 24 points).
Trust me, you don't want him. At least now you can potentially go out and draft a new QB. Last edited by 49ersJetsfan; 03-01-2013 at 04:13 PM. |

He's not a quality starting QB, quality backup yes. So were/are Dilfer, David Carr, Ken Dorsey, and Ty Detmer. |

Smith before Harbaugh was Sanchez - a turnover machine that couldn't make a pre-snap or in-play read to save his life, and held onto the ball too long leading to tons of sacks. Except Mark had actually accomplished something in his career.

In the 5 games that Smith started following Raye's firing, he avg'ed a 95.08 QB Rating, with 8 passing TDs to 1 Int. To be sure, there was even more improvement after Harbaugh arrived, but it started before he got there. |
