Your top 5 at every position?
Hey guys, just wanted to see some opinions and thoughts on who you guys believe are the top 5 prospects at every position, and whom you think at the end of the day will pan out to be the top 5 in this class.
For me - QB: 1. Geno Smith 2. EJ Manuel 3. Matt Barkley 4. Tyler Bray 5. Matt Scott RB: 1. Gio Bernard 2. Marcus Lattimore 3. Kenjon Barner 4. Montee Ball 5. Andre Ellington WR: 1. Tavon Austin 2. Cordarelle Patterson 3. Keenan Allen 4. Quinton Patton 5. Marcus Wheaton TE: 1. Zach Ertz 2. Tyler Eifert 3. Gavin Escobar 4. Travis Kelce 5. Jordan Reed Didn't really watch much tape of tackles in this class to be honest. Not really a big need. OG: 1. Chance Warmack 2. Jonathan Cooper 3. Barret Jones 4. Larry Worford 5. Kyle Long - Didn't watch a lot of NG/DT tape either. Not a need, and the film is not as interesting to watch as others. OLB: 1. Dion Jordan 2. Jarvis Jones (Injury Concerns really scare me, so I wouldn't draft him at 9) 3. Ezekial Ansah 4. Barkavious Mingo 5. Jamie Collins - Alex Okafor ILB: 1. Arthur Brown 2. Alec Ogletree 3. Kevin Minter 4. Khaseem Greene 5. Manti Te'o CB: 1. Dee Milliner 2. Desmond Trufant 3. Xavier Rhodes 4. Jonathan Banks 5. Leon McFadden S: (Favorite to watch on tape along with HB.) 1. Kenny Vaccaro 2. Eric Reid 3. Tyrann Mathieu (Will be Safety at pro level IMO) 4. Jonathan Cyprien 5. Matt Elam 6. Bacarri Rambo Anyone else/thoughts? - Also the deepest classes in this draft are Safety and Running Back. Guard and Wide Receiver is heavy in rounds 2 and 3. This is a fun topic. I'll be back later to slap pin my list up.
In the meantime consider this; if we end up doing away with Pouha, and De Vito (as I suspect we will), then you've grossly misjudged our need on the Dline. Its great that we have two marquee names from previous drafts, but we're grossly understaffed. ...Shariff Floyd might be the lowest risk, biggest baller in the draft class. I kinda wish the Jets would go after him. It's a pipedream, I know. |

Floyd is great, although I don't believe he'll last until 9. I have confidence in Ellis, and Coples looked solid last year. We need speed at the LB position, and also a playmaker in the secondary (safety.) I've been watching film 24/7, and my favorite players in this draft are Dion Jordan, Marcus Wheaton, Desmond Trufant, and Gio Bernard. Jonathan Cyprien is a favorite of mine as well, but reminds me of Landry. I feel like we need a true FS more than anything. (Love the honey badger as well.) We can definitely use a DT, but more in the rounds 3-5. Remember this: Coples and Wilkerson play inside a lot as well, when we run our 4-3 looks. Our future draft pick at OLB would slide to the line. - I want to make this statement known. Marcus Wheaton will be a probowler in the next 3 years. |

I still dont buy into all the combine hype. Jarvis Jones, will and should still be the first. Olb pass rusher off the board. He won't be there at 9.

That injury really scares me, plus he can't really live in the weight room, due to his injury. Bad combo.

OP, you have to swap your 1 and 2 TE's. Tyler Eifert is much more well rounded. Zach Ertz can't block at all.
http://www.nj.com/times-sports/index..._draft_pr.html Also, at WR Tavon Austin is a slot guy. Do we really want him over Keenan Allen? |

Also, you should break out the OLB/DE categories by 3-4 and 4-3. Otherwise the rankings are apples and oranges. I really trust Mayock's list. He's been pretty damn good year in and year out overall. |

Sure he will. Marcus McNeill slipped to the second round due to the same condition.

But I agree, Lattimore's injury is a total wild card, kind of like Willis McGahee--who was going to be drafted in the top 3-5 picks that year--then dropped on many boards to round 3 or 4--or off of some boards--only to be taken by the Bills late first round. He sat out his entire rookie season--I can't take that gamble on him being a stud RB because he just as easily could never get it all the way back. _ |
