There's NO reason to delay the process. Start Geno Smith.

Put Asomougha back in a man coverage defense and he's a solid, not spectacular, CB again.

What the Eagles did was sheer stupidity. Spend $60 million on a man cover corner and tell him to play zone.

Oh okay.

That's a big reason why Andy Reid's out of a job.

I agree.

That being said, I also think these teams are realizing that paying these big salaries to cornerbacks is just not worth it.

Why allocate all that money to a player who at best is only going to shut down ONE of the opposing team's weapons at best? Instead that money can go towards a player who will have a much bigger impact on the game by being matched up against the oppositions' players who touch the ball much more often than a #1 WR.

This year there are only 3 CBs scheduled to make at least 10 million dollars. Nnamdi at 15 million....LOL, which we know he will never see, Champ Bailey at 10.75 which he will probably not see that full amount as none of it is guaranteed, and Cortland Finegan at 14 million, but that is due to his contract structure which had him at only 4 million last year and then drops to 9 million next year.

So I would say there is no way Revis is going to get 16 million a year from anybody. That would be approximately 60% higher than the current highest paid CBs in the league. Revis can talk all he wants about being the highest paid defensive player, but that doesnt mean he will get it.
