The interviewer shouldve followed up the question by asking, "Are you saying that Favre is your example of an 'innacurate' quarterback?" If Mweg said yes, then the interviewer shouldve pointed out the difference between the completion percentages.

Sanchez hasn't even been close to being mediocre compl. percentage wise.
Phil Simms except for the Bowl game against the Bronco's wasn't accurate either..

Mornhinweg lives and dies by big yardage plays so yeah of course he believes this. If he calls 30 30+ yard plays a game and hits half that is 450 yards. Problem is Sanchez isn't a big play QB. Glennon or Smith maybe.

40% of the passes Sanchez threw behind the LOS went incomplete.

Sanchez is going to be the Week 1 starter. There's about a 10% chance he'll actually finish the season, but he'll be starting on opening day.

Sanchez's "big plays" are usually big for the opposing team.

Tony's writeup:

Syracuse
If there were any questions about his passing skills leaving the combine, Ryan Nassib answered them all today with an impressive pro-day workout.

The signal caller threw 75 passes under the guidance of his coaches, former NFL offensive coordinator Paul Hackett and former All Pro signal caller Ken Anderson. All but four passes were caught. Three passes were dropped by receivers while the fourth was a catchable pass yet just slightly high of the mark at the end of the workout.

Nassib significantly improved his downfield accuracy and the placement of his deep outs. The long passes did not float as much as they had in the past and all his throws had excellent speed. Most impressive was the accuracy and speed Nassib displayed on his move throws late in the workout. Despite the grinding routine throughout the workout Nassib swiftly sprinted outside the tackle box and was dead on passing in motion.

Nassib is scheduled to have dinner with the New York Jets this evening, offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg included.

Saw Nassib here in person against Mizzou this past year, and I was impressed. He took some big hits early and still brought 'Cuse back at the end to beat us. He's got enough arm, and is pretty tough.

Wouldn't mind him in the 2nd at all.

He was pretty mobile behind the LOS and in the pocket, threw a LOT on the run, but a 'runner' he ain't...

The 1st mistake by Sanchez especially early in a game will get ugly quick if he starts if its the Jets opening game at home!

But, the flip side is, what if Sanchez starts & has all his weapons, Holmes, Kerley, TE, Hill, a new rookie RB & he has one of his best games ever running Marty's WCO?
It's not completely out of the realm of possibility.
While I'm not a huge fan of Sanchez, something tells me San Fran doesn't sniff a Superbowl if they lost Crabtree & Vernon Davis for the season & started Shonn Greene instead of Frank Gore.
Everything needs perspective.

I agree 100% but it won't matter. Even if Sanchez has a great opening game, his first incomplete pass and especially his first turnover will bring all the haters out again. Once a player is on the fans **** list in NY there's no going back. Good thing the fans don't impact the game though.
