I like this signing. Goodson has been great in limited opportunites in Carolina and Oakland. This is exactly the sort of cheap "hidden gem" players Idzik should be looking for to try and make sure the team's not a complete laughing stock.
First signing I've been impressed by. |

“@brianerni i really hope someone takes to saying "a mike goodson television production" after a big run”@espnbob
Bob Wischusen @espnbob The password is..touchdown Never thought anyone would make that connection. That is awesome. For those who don't understand this line, look up Mark Goodson |

This guy has rushed for 722 in 4 years! Scored 3 TD's! No TD's sine 2010! And he is our new running back??? Yikes!

It's $2.3M per year, and we don't know how much is incentive based vs guaranteed. Even if it was all gauranteed. its 2x vet min, his upside more than justifies the risk-return profile.

But he's not 33, he got Greene's number, 23. Yesterday when we were all abuzz with his signing and then not signing, his Wiki page said he was a Jet but the number was blank, today it says 23.

You guys think he'll beat out Tebow for the starting RB job next August?

Any half-way knowledgeable NFL fan knows you don't spay the big-name running back you go after the talented player who has had limited touches and no mileage like the Falcons did a few years ago with Turner.

Big flaw with your argument is that turners resume was ten times what goodson's is. Also Steven Jackson didn't get a big payday at all plus if we drafted a young running back would have been an excellent tutor. Also everyone saying that rebuilding teams draft young and look for young players to develop I don't know what team you guys are rooting for but I root for the jets and last time I heard my coach owner and gm insisted they are putting a competent and competitive product on the field
