this met fan doesnt relize the the nl is so much more weaker than the al...the mets should have a much better record than they have now

Everybodys talking about bringing in more outfielders. From watching this game pitching seems to be the problem. I think the Randy Johnson trade did more harm then good. If johnson wasnt traded you would still have Vazquez and Halsey which at this point look more capable then what the The yankees have with the exception of Mussina. With the Yankee minor system depleted from Steinbrenners excessive trading you have nothing to offer to get a capable pitcher this team is showing its weakness in pitching. Im hoping Steinbrenner doesnt end up using Cabrera and Phillips as trade bait these guys will be foundation for a solid core for years to come. The Yankees are a great example when you trade the house of farm players for has beens like Johnson. The Yankees made this mistake in the 80s and it cost them 14 years of losing. Right now they are a good team with a bad pitching rotation.
