So to say that the World Champion 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000 Yankees owe a debt of gratitude to his "Mets experience" is more than a stretch. It's like saying Art Howe's failure was due to Davey Johnson's success 15 years earlier. No connection then, no connection now.

Bottom line: Be proud, Mets fans. Be proud of your team. Be proud of your players. Be proud of your front-office. Be proud of your Yankee heritage. After all, we are.

It doesn't matter if they win it all this year or next; they'll win it in 2008.

That's how it is in Yankeeland. We don't worry. It's not like we go 30 years between Championships. That's what happens when you win 25% of all the World Series in baseball history. Once every four years, on average.

There's some catching up to do, then. But you got some aging players coming off the juice, and suspect pitching as well. Moose is ready for the hunt. What will you do then?
