question for mets and yankees fans.

well, since both mets and yankees fans have a fondness for this player i thought it might make for a decent discussion without any rivalry induced animosity. so question is, do you think david cone gets consideration for the hall of fame?

I say no also. He had some very good years but also had some bad ones. And his era is 3.4 lifetime.

yeah unfortunately i believe he falls short as well. such a shame cause he is one of my favorite players from back then. i don't think i can remember another player who had such amazing movement on his pitches.

If he hadn't of shown off "his cone" in the bullpen, maybe he'd have more serious consideration.

i think the HOF if the place you go to when you can say that for like 6,7 or 8 years you were the best of the second best at your position...cone has never done that....besides for a pitcher 194 wins isnt going to cut it. I would be curious to see if Tommy Glavine makes it on his first try...great pitcher...but never even the top pitcher on his team...john franco another guy..#1 in saves but prob wont make it. What do you guys think about those 2?

i think glavine is a first ballot hall of famer. if he makes 300, which it looks like he probably will, then it's a definite no-brainer.

David Cone was a great pitcher and had some fantastic years for both the Mets and the Yankees. With this being said, he will not make the Hall Of Fame.
