Jackie Robinson stadium: Yes or No?

I say no. Ebbets Field is enough.

As an old Bklyn Dodger fan I have a lot of feelings for Jackie R. but I also say no. If anything it should be Gil Hodges Stadium because he had a tie with both teams and led us to the greatest WS upset seen in modern time.

It's a shame Big Gil is not in the HOF yet....Even as a Yankee fan I heard stories
about Gil Hodges from my father and grandfather. They can't go wrong with either name for the new stadium.

If they wanted to name the stadium after a former Brooklyn Dodger I'd hope they choose Gil Hodges before Jackie Robinson.

They could nickname it "The Gil".

No for many reasons. First of all jackie Robinson has already been bestowed with a great honor in that his #42 has been retired by MLB. He has no connection with the New York Mets at all. He retired 5 yrs before the Mets even started playing. Let the Dodgers rename their stadium for Jackie Robinson. As a matter of fact the Mets have more in common with the Giants than the Dodgers. They both played in the Polo Grounds, one of the Giant's greatest players Willie Mays played for both and the Mets NY on their hats is the same as the NY Giants. Hopefully Ralph Lauren will pony up some cash and they can name the new staddium "The Pologrounds".

No. We already have the Jackie Robinson Parkway and that thing is ALWAYS backed up.

I couldn't imagine trying to get into a Stadium by the same name.

NO Jackie Robinson.

Let Met Life sponsor the stadium.

Then we can call it "THE MET"

I'll go along with that. I met him once and he had these huge forearms. He was a very strong guy.
